My chervil soup for today turned out very well. I used this recipe, but used a white sweet potato. The fresh chervil really made a difference.
Meine Kerbelsuppe für Gründonnerstag ist sehr lecker geworden. Ich habe statt der Kartoffel eine weiße Süßkartoffel genommen. Der frische Kerbel hat wirklich der Suppe eine besondere Note verliehen.
We went to St. Patrick's for the evening Mass. They had a nice display in their display case outside.
Wir waren bei St. Patrick in der Kirche. Draußen hatten sie einen schönen Schaukasten für die Karwoche.
We arrived early to get a seat. The church was still fairly dark.
Wir sind früh angekommen, um einen Sitzplatz zu bekommen. Die Kirche war noch ziemlich dunkel.
Father Alexander washed the feet of 12 men and there was a beautiful alter of repose.
Pfarrer Alexander hat die Füße von 12 Männern gewaschen und der Anbetungsaltar war sehr schön.

ReplyDeleteWe always read a Germans story at home that the moon needs to be full so we can celebrate Easter. So we always look or it around Easter. It was a beautiful night, just a bit loud outside caused by people on Soho Square.
DeleteP.S. I'd like to try making the soup one year, but I never see chervil . . dried or fresh. I'll have to keep my eyes open . .
ReplyDeleteI just saw that some Wegmans stores sell fresh chervil. I know they don't do in the one that is closest to us, but maybe in the city? You can enter your store online and search.

ReplyDeleteOh nein? Die gibt es hier und auch in den USA. Sie sind ein wenig "zarter" als orangefarbene. Flora mag sie lieber.
DeleteIch gehe heute einkaufen und werde drauf achten. Nein, ich habe sie tatsächlich noch nie gesehen. Vielleicht gibt es sie hier gar nicht.
DeleteDas ist natürlich möglich, es ist ja schon gar nicht so einfach, normale Süßkartoffeln zu finden!
