Miriam found this strange mushroom on our lawn.

After Solana Beach, Veronika and Charlotte went to a café that had rabbits.

Nach dem Strandbesuch waren Veronika und Charlotte bei einem Café, das auch Kaninchen hatte.

And after the Café they went to church for the Saturday Vigil in Oceanside.

Nach dem Café sind sie dann zur Vorabendmesse in Oceanside gegangen.

And now they are in Indiana, visiting their grandparents.

Und jetzt sind sie in Indiana, wo sie ihre Großeltern besuchen.

Peter's birthday was last week and his parents and sister came for a visit.

Peters Geburtstag war letzte Woche und seine Eltern und Schwester waren zu Besuch da.

In the evening, I took the girls to a workshop in Cuba to make mushroom logs.

Am Abend bin ich mit den Mädchen nach Cuba gefahren, um einen Pilzbaumstamm herzustellen.

First, we had to drill lots of holes.

Erst mußten wir viele Löcher bohren.

Then we added pegs that had been inoculated with mycelium for blue oyster mushrooms.

Dann mußte man Impfdübel in die Löcher schlagen.  Diese Dübel enthalten Myzel des blauen Austernpilzes.

The pegs needed to be hammered in.

Die Dübel mußte man reinhämmern.

The last step was to seal the pegs with liquid beeswax.

Zum Schluß mußte man die Dübel mit flüssigem Bienenwachs verschließen.

There was time for games.

Wir haben Spiele gespielt.

And also went to the library: They bought new cute chairs.

Wir waren auch in der Bücherei, wo es neue lustige Kinderstühle gab.
