Jonathan and Charlotte are taking a CPR/AED course right now. The first half is online and they have to take a test. It needs to be completed by tomorrow. The second half will be a real life course on Wednesday with the other homeschoolers from their health co-op class. The description of the class reads:
To train professional-level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.Jonathan und Charlotte machen im Moment einen Erste-Hilfe-Kurs, der eigentlich für Krankenwagenfahrer u. ä. Leute ist. Die erste Hälfte ist ein online Kurs mit Test, der bis morgen bestanden sein muß, die zweite Hälfte ist dann praktisch am Mittwoch für mehrere Stunden. Damit schließen sie dann ihre Gesundheitsklasse vom Hausunterrichtsco-op ab. Sie lernen, wie man bei Atemnot und Herzversagen erste Hilfe leistet, bis ein Arzt kommen kann.
I mailed away all our tests today! Hurrah!! Finally done with all of them. Now we just have to wait for the results. When I was at the post office, there was not just the postmaster there, but also two other village women and our dentist. The postmaster gave Flora bubbles and also remembered to send a long some for her sisters. Our post office is really a place where people meet and where you can hear the latest gossip.
Heute habe ich alle Abschlußtests weggeschickt! Hurra! Jetzt sind wir damit fertig, aber müssen noch auf die Ergebnisse warten. Als ich bei der Post war, war nicht nur die Postbeamtin da, sondern auch zwei weitere Frauen aus dem Dorf und unser Zahnarzt. Die Postbeamtin hat Flora Seifenblasen geschenkt und ihr auch welche für ihre Schwestern mitgegeben. Hier ist die Post noch wirklich so etwas wie ein Dorfmittelpunkt, wo man den letzten Klatsch hören kann.
