Veronika took her writing exam with about twenty other students (via Zoom). She thought it went well.
Veronika hat ihren "Aufsatz Test" heute gemacht. Ungefähr zwanzig andere Studenten haben via Zoom daran teilgenommen. Sie denkt, sie hat es ganz gut gemacht.
Flora and I did some regular homeschooling, but she also went back to her art class today. In the afternoon, I weeded, but it turns out I am allergic to bedstraw. I got a really bad rash on my hands, arms, and knees! We went to adoration and Mass in the evening. And it is very hot today: 87 degrees.
Flora und ich haben Homeschooling gemacht, aber sie hatte auch wieder Kunstunterricht. Am Nachmittag habe ich im Garten gejätet und festgestellt, daß ich gegen Labkraut allergisch bin. Ich habe jetzt einen schlimmen Ausschlag auf Händen, Armen und Knien! Heute abend waren wir zur Anbetung und Messe in der Kirche. Und es ist sehr heiß heute: 31 Grad!
It is already Wednesday and things are just moving along quite quickly. We have started new main lessons: Middle Ages for Veronika and Physics for Flora. So far, we have studied the Anglo-Saxons and mirrors. Then there is ballet, and art, and violin, and my German teaching, and many little other things. There was also a new mouse that wanted to share our living-room with us, but we were not so thrilled about that. We managed to catch it and release it at the other side of town. I have not taken many pictures recently, but Miriam took a few from an apple-picking trip on Sunday.
Es ist schon Mittwoch und die Zeit vergeht wie im Flug. Wir haben mit neuen Hauptepochen angefangen: Mittellalter für Veronika und Physik für Flora. Bisher haben wir uns mit den Angelsachsen und Spiegeln beschäftigt. Dann ist natürlich immer Ballett und Kunst und Geige und mein Deutschunterricht und viele andere kleine Dinge. Außerdem wollte wieder eine Maus bei uns im Wohnzimmer leben, doch wir fanden die Idee nicht so toll. Wir haben sie gefangen und ans andere Dorfende gebracht. Ich habe kaum Fotos in den letzten Tagen gemacht, aber Miriam hat am Sonntag Äpfel geerntet und die Ernte fotografiert.

When I bought my curriculum, they were not available, but I thought I would still get some use out of these new ones and contacted Rainbow about buying them. Normally you can only buy a complete set for each grade. I had a nice chat with him (we used to talk once a year when I was ready to buy the next grade) and he sent me those four booklets.

Ah, and I used these three for my German teaching today. We are practicing possessive pronouns right now: mein Bär, meine Maus, mein Krokodil, dein Bär, deine Maus, dein Krokodil, etc. The students loved it and we passed the animals around to practice all forms. I will show the students the little song "Schnappi, das kleine Krokodil" on Friday because they thought that the word "Krokodil" was really "cool."
Und diese drei Gefährten habe ich heute beim Unterrichten benutzt. Wir üben im Moment Possessivpronomen: mein Bär, meine Maus, mein Krokodil usw. Die Studenten mochten diese Tiere sehr und wir haben sie herumgereicht, um alle Formen zu üben. Sie mochten besonders das Wort "Krokodil" und deshalb werde ich ihnen das Lied "Schnappi, das kleine Krokodil" am Freitag zeigen.
