Not the greatest picture, but St. Nicholas left some nuts, mandarin oranges, gold chocolate coins, and little St. Nicholas chocolates in our shoes. We also found a prayer card in the bowl Flora had put out with oats and an apple for his horse.
Nicht das beste Foto, aber der Nikolaus hat uns Nüsse, Mandarinen, Schokoladenmünzen und kleine Nikoläuse in die Schuhe gesteckt. Ein Gebetskärtchen war in der Schale, in die Flora Haferflocken und einen Apfel für sein Pferd getan hatte.
He even brought treats for Jonathan and Charlotte who will be coming home on Tuesday.
Er hat sogar etwas für Jonathan und Charlotte gebracht. Die beiden kommen am Dienstag nach Hause.
We have entered Nutcracker dress rehearsal time. Next week, we will have rehearsals and performances every day. It is also the last week of classes and then finals week for our college. Jonathan and Charlotte are already done with their semester. They just have a few finals left. I only had three students in German class today. The rest of the class was in a Christmas concert in Rochester.
Wir haben jetzt die ersten Generalproben für Nußknacker. Nächste Woche haben wir jeden Tag Probe oder eine Aufführung. Es ist auch die letzte Unterrichtswoche. Danach haben wir eine Woche Abschlußklausuren und mündliche Prüfungen. Heute hatte ich nur drei Studenten zum Unterrichten, weil alle anderen bei einem großen Weihnachtskonzert in Rochester mitgemacht haben.
We read the following picture book today: Santa Claus and the Dormouse. We also read about the life of St. Nicholas in our saint books. Wir haben heute das folgende Bilderbuch gelesen: Wach auf, Siebenschläfer, der Nikolaus ist da. Dazu haben wir auch über den Bischof Nikolaus in unseren Heiligenbüchern gelesen. 
Ich wünsche Euch einen fröhlichen nachträglichen Nikolaus! Da könnt ihr ja quasi zweimal feiern, wenn die Geschwister nächste Woche kommen. :-)

DeleteHappy Belated St Nicholas Day :-) I loved reading the link about the St Barbara traditions and story. St Nicholas visited but no photos taken, we had college run and audiology appointment for Pip. Too much to do and on the back of me not having enough energy to do it all, ah well xx

DeleteIt's such a busy, but fun time of year. It sounds like you have are coasting along well! My friend Janet used to say that during holiday time she often felt that she was on a runaway train.
ReplyDeleteI do understand what Janet means. Especially with all those Nutcracker activities and finals on campus thrown into the mix. Oh well, one day we will be old and we will miss all those activities.
