Our seasonal table is getting fuller: We have added some plants and also St. Nicholas. Mary and Joseph have almost walked half of their way.
Unser Jahreszeitentisch wird voller: Wir haben Pflanzen und auch St. Nikolaus hinzugefügt. Maria und Joseph sind auch schon fast die Hälfte ihres Weges gegangen.
The angel that is hanging above the table gets lowered each Sunday of Advent. It is bringing the Christ Child.
Der Engel, der über dem Tisch hängt, wird jeden Adventssonntag ein wenig tiefer gehängt. Er bringt das Christkind.

I have been super busy with getting the house ready for Jonathan and Charlotte's arrival (making room so that they can sleep) and also with writing up two exams for my students. They will take their last exam in two days and then will have their final exam next week. They will all also do oral exams. On Friday, we will have a Christmas party in class! We had a ballet rehearsal late this afternoon. Tomorrow, the girls will perform in an elementary school. That performance will be a smaller version of the Nutcracker, without Jonathan and Charlotte. I have not had much time to answer comments here on my blog or to comment on other blogs. I will get to them, though, believe me!
Ich habe im Moment viel damit zu tun, das Haus so aufzuräumen, daß Jonathan und Charlotte morgen auch einen Platz zum Schlafen finden, und mit dem Schreiben von zwei Klausuren für meine Studenten. Sie schreiben ihre letzte normale Klausur Mittwoch und ihre Abschlußklausur nächste Woche. Dann haben sie auch noch mündliche Prüfungen. Am Freitag machen wir eine Weihnachtsfeier im Deutschseminar. Heute hatten wir wieder eine Ballettprobe. Morgen haben die Mädchen eine kleine Nußknackeraufführung. Sie findet in einer Grundschule statt. Jonathan und Charlotte sind dafür noch nicht dabei. Ich habe im Moment kaum Zeit, hier Kommentare zu beantworten oder woanders zu kommentieren, aber das werde ich noch nachholen.
Bei uns ist die Vorweihnachtszeit dieses Jahr auch sehr voll mit Terminen und To Dos. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, dass letztes Jahr soviel anstand. Zumindest einen Tag am Wochenende versuchen wir gerade deshalb, was anderes zu machen. Mach Dir keinen Stress wegen der Kommentare, erstmal alles abhaken was gemacht werden muss. Ach ja, heute kommen ja Jonathan und Charlotte nach Hause! Das ist schön, viel Spaß Euch!
ReplyDeleteVielleicht kommt es uns auch immer hektischer vor, weil wir älter werden? Wenn die Kinder klein sind, ist es viel einfacher, die kindliche Vorweihnachtsfreude zu bewahren. Jetzt ist das Haus wieder voll und es wird doppelt so viel gegessen!

DeleteWishing you well with all the many things you do! Your seasonal table is wonderfully beautiful and festive and I can feel the magic of Christmas radiating from your home. Morgana returns next week and I need to clear that bedroom a bit more of things that we "store" there when we run out of space in the other areas of the apartment. I think tomorrow I will get my dough ready for Lüssekatter buns. I missed it last year with Greg and Chanda as I was visiting my mom in CT.
ReplyDeleteDid you spot your Saint Nicholas on our table? He fits perfectly. I am so glad to hear that Morgana is coming home for Christmas! You must be happy to have her back for a while. How are her studies going? Hard to believe that we were all in London at the beginning of the year. It seems to be so far away! We had also had to move our Lucia celebration to next Monday! There was no time for baking and no time for getting up really early with the Nutcracker going on. Monday will be our St. Lucia Day! Happy Lucia Day!
DeleteOh, yes! I love that St. Nicholas and it looks so nice on your table! Our Lucia buns were delicious and I'm glad I made them . . and it will be nice to have Morgana home for the holidays. ReplyDeleteYes, he is perfect! We thought we would do Lucia this morning, but people were too tired yesterday and nobody felt like baking anymore. So, today is the baking day and tomorrow we will do our little celebration. Yes, time does go by quickly, pretty soon it is Christmas already. When is Morgana coming home?
