We cut our St. Barbara branches yesterday. I always use forsythia branches. Here is a link to the legend and this German custom. And here is a video from Germany about a monk cutting such branches.

I placed paper white bulbs in jam jars with stones and some water and put them on the windowsill. I'll have to take a pic :)
