GCV&M

Today was one of the open days at the GCV&M.  Miriam and Veronika were volunteering this week, but the museum is only open from Thursday through Sunday these days. Normally the summer camp participants and volunteers wear costumes, but due to Coronavirus, there are no costumes right now.  Flora was especially eager to get to the museum.  She wanted to look at all her favorite spots.  So we all left bright and early and spent the day at the museum.

They put up very neat signs to help people remember how to avoid problematic behavior.

You had to wear masks in all the buildings and in designated "crowded areas."  All people adhered to the rules and so you felt safe and could enjoy the visit.

  1. Hello Eva, it looks like a fun and busy day. It's interesting to see the hops, and Flora must have enjoyed seeing all the animals. I hope you are sleeping well now from being outside in the sunshine. Did you pick an apricot to eat?

    1. This was our first real "outing" since March, can you imagine? Actually, both Peter and I, did not sleep well. Maybe it was too hot? No, we did not pick it. It was not ripe and you are not allowed to pick anything in the museum.

    2. Yes, we haven't done any "outings" like we used to, either. Museums are opening up to a limited capacity, so we may visit one of our local ones, and it would be nice to visit one of the gardens, also, I suppose . . . Sturbridge had several pear trees that would be laden with fruit. It was fun to have one occasionally. I haven't had any peaches or apricots yet.

    3. P.S. Yes, it's hot here again also, and Greg and I haven't slept as well as during the cooler nights :(

    5. I think some peaches from CA have salmonella in them and you should buy them. I hope you will get to go to a museum soon.
