It is difficult to move everything after twenty years, and Flora is like Chanda, who never liked such changes either. Please tell Flora that I like her pictures. They're thoughtful and informative. What is the little magnet figure on the file cabinet, and the red and yellow canister by the coffee pot? Poor Peter. It's so much to do while preparing online lessons, and dealing with Covid. This office building is very nice with the blue walls and grey floor; such a pretty shade of blue. I hope the new one is nice also, and has a shady tree outside its window.
ReplyDeleteThat is the sweetest photo of Julius!!
I will let her know! Isn't it interesting she took a picture of the light switch? I think that figure is a childhood memento. The canister is a tea tin from Germany. It looks like a lighthouse. Yes, it is kind of crazy to do the move, especially because we were not allowed to go into our office building for such a long time! He will stay on the same floor, so the blue walls and the floor will not change. His "new" office has less light and a different tree. It will be next to mine because I got moved last year to the top floor. No one from my department is on that floor. They moved people around because they wanted more space for the "Center for Academic Success." All the English Department moved to the floor where Education and Foreign Languages used to be. Those people were put somewhere else and Peter had to move because the Business people needed that space. It is all very complicated.
DeleteHe looks like an old man, though :).
Aw that is sad and what a time to shift around with all this Covid stuff! I hope Peter's new office as an equally lovely view and plenty of space to store his stuff. Sending much love to you all as you navigate another home school and college year xx
ReplyDeleteYes, especially since you have to wear a mask in the building carrying all the stuff from one end of the hallway to the other! The view is also towards the quad, but the windows are a bit different. I think he has less light. We will start in two weeks and I am still not prepared. So many uncertainties: Can we do art lessons, violin lessons, ballet lessons? It is all up in the air. We know we cannot do flute lessons because teacher and student have to be 12 feet apart. That does not work for a beginning student. And for ballet you need masks. I kind of doubt that Flora can pull that off. Also, there are no places a parent can go to in case we do ballet. The library is closed, the bookstore only allows five people at a time and closes early, and the studio does not allow parents at all. Where are you supposed to go during lesson time? The art lady does not require masks, so we do not know if that is safe or if we want to do that. Oh well, it will all fall in place, but right now I feel overwhelmed.
DeletePip is really missing her arts award group, weekly football at the gym and bus trips into town with Dave for a guitar lesson followed by a coffee at Wesley’s. Beacon Fell adventures are starting in a few weeks and rambling around the fell is a no go for me but she knows Andrea and Rhoda (the instructors) really well so will ramble with them instead. The kids are really missing Dave, it’s five weeks now since he was at home. We will know later today if he has a place at the Sue Ryder Neuro Rehab xx
DeleteI am glad Pip will be able to do some activity. I do hope that he will be able to go to rehab. This is getting so long! It must be so hard on everybody.
