This was a very hot Memorial Day! It is hard to believe that a few weeks ago it was snowing!
Heute war es sehr heiß. Amerikaner gedenken heute ihrer gefallenen Soldaten. Vor ein paar Wochen hat es noch geschneit und so kann man den plötzlichen Umschwung kaum glauben.
We got out all our fans.
Wir haben alle unsere Ventilatoren rausgeholt.
In spit of the heat, I swept our deck and Peter cut some thorny branches.
Trotz der Hitze habe ich unsere Veranda gefegt und Peter hat Dornengestrüpp geschnitten.

These two did not mind the heat.
Diesen beiden hat die Hitze nichts ausgemacht.
That is so strange, to have it so hot. We had nice weather again. It's been such a pleasant week here, weather-wise. It was also a quiet Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteYes, this was crazy! And we cannot go onto campus to escape the heat this summer. Very sad. I hope the heat will not come to the city so quickly and you will have some nice weeks ahead of you.
DeleteDas ist ja unglaublich was für Wetterumschwünge ihr habt. Hier stabilisiert es sich so langsam auch. Ich lüfte immer morgens früh schonmal sonst wird es unglaublich heiss im Haus. Die Streifenhörnchen sind so niedlich! Julius macht es genau richtig, er kühlt sich im Schatten ab.
ReplyDeleteJa, das ist im Moment sehr extrem. Das sagen sogar die Meteorologen! Wir lassen die Fenster immer auf, sonst erstickt man hier. Je älter Julius wird, desto schlechter verträgt er die Hitze!
DeleteDas gleiche Problem hatten wir mit Aaron auch, er hat im Alter die Hitze gar nicht mehr gut vertragen und wir haben ihn immer geschoren damit er durch das lange Fell nicht auch noch überhitzt wurde. Wir lassen sie auch auf, noch kühlt es nachts ab.
DeleteJa, so ein Fell kann schon ganz schön heiß werden! Nachts ist es bisher auch meist kühl gewesen, aber das wird sich wohl bald leider ändern.
DeleteCannot believe I missed leaving a Happy Birthday message to Flora here on the blog, I did however send my good wishes via Charlotte's Instagram account. Ever since upgrading my phone I have had trouble leaving comments on blogs as for some reason my google account doesn't stay connected with the phone. I mainly read yours and Dorina's updates from my phone and in the old days was able to leave a comment straight away. Now I have to wait for the laptop to be free and of course time passes, boo :-(
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to attend mass in Ireland, you are certainly getting about during lockdown!! Crazy extremes in weather but the sunshine is always a welcome blessing, hoping it has cooled off a little today. It was lovely to see you on Charlotte's Instagram stories from yesterday, even if it was a back view as you were passing!
I'm now off to ask Ben's help in sorting my phone conundrum, but first I need to make Pip's bed so that she can get to sleep.
