Game/Spiel: Carcassonne

Veronika and Flora played a new game from the library today.  It is called Carcassonne and is originally from Germany.  They both enjoyed it.

Veronika und Flora haben heute ein neues Spiel aus der Bücherei gespielt.  Es heißt Carcassonne und war das Spiel des Jahres 2001.  Es hat ihnen beiden Spaß gemacht.

  1. This looks like fun! I've never seen it before. It looks like a Ravensburger box, but it says ZMAN, so I'm not familiar with the brand. How nice that your library rents out games. The Montauk Library did that also.

    1. The German one was made by Schmidt, so no Ravensburger. It is Z-MAN and they are the only "translator" of this game in the U.S. Jonathan played it today with the girls and he liked it also. They played the easy version because of Flora, but there is a more difficult version you can play with it. I think our library system has quite a few games, but I have never paid much attention to them.

  2. Carcassone is one of our favourite games! THanks for sharing your lesson plans and other links just below the header, it has been as usual very helpful :-) I have a curriculum kind of sorted but your additional info especially regarding life skills is useful x

    1. Really! It is a new one for us :). I am still working on those links and lesson plans, but I am glad they are of use to someone. I am really annoyed that Amazon took away my Amazon store. I had put so much work into it! I am trying to rebuilt my links from what I had in that store and am also adding new ones. I am working on Veronika's plans right now. Flora's are almost finished.

    2. Sorry to hear about the amazon debacle :-(. Your blog is a go to resource for me every time :-) x

    3. Yes, that was bad for many people. I had all my materials there, for each grade a separate "store." I never had time to print out all my links, it would have taken hours and lots of paper to do so.
