Another very hot day. Jonathan did not have to go to work today because he got called to jury duty (Grand Jury). He spent his morning in the court house and this afternoon the three of us drove to the lake to cool off. He will have to go back three more time to serve.
Es war wieder sehr heiß. Jonathan mußte heute nicht arbeiten, weil er zu einer Grand Jury einberufen worden ist. Heute war das erste von noch vier weiteren Treffen. Den Morgen hat er im Amtsgericht verbracht und am Nachmittag sind wir drei zum See gefahren, um uns abzukühlen.

ReplyDeleteChanda had to serve on jury duty this past fall. She actually got on a case which met for two weeks, though not every day.
It was so refreshing! Did Chanda think it was interesting? I think a Grand Jury is different from a regular jury, though. I read that only Liberia and the U.S. have grand juries, isn't that interesting?
ReplyDeleteWasserburgen bauen wollen wir auch wieder, aber erst im Urlaub. Hier sind es heute 13 Grad, kann man sich das vorstellen? In zwei Tagen sind fast 30 vorausgesagt, ganz komisches Wetter hier. Ist der See bei Euch ganz in der Nähe?
ReplyDeleteBei Charlotte ist es auch so kalt, hier waren es heute wieder 30 und es sollen 34 werden. Ist es wirklich heiß geworden? Ja, der See ist eigentlich eine Talsperre und nur ca. 20 Minuten entfernt (mit dem Auto).
