A hot, hot day we had for our Independence Day celebration. It was 90 degrees out. We celebrated at the GCV&M. Miriam had to work. Today she was at the Hosmer's Inn.
Heute war es sehr heiß, ca. 32 Grad. Wir haben den Tag im Freilichtmuseum gefeiert. Miriam hat im Gasthof gearbeitet.

Das sind wieder schöne Bilder aus dem Freilichtmuseum. Diesmal waren recht viele Leute da, oder sieht das nur so aus? Die Musik auf den Wassergläsern ist ja lustig, das gefällt mir.
ReplyDeleteDurch die Feierlichkeiten für die neuen Staatsbürger waren viele Leute da, die sonst nicht zu einem solchen Museum gehen. Es kommen aber auch viele Leute, die gerne eine altmodische Feier zum Unabhängigkeitstag haben wollen. Außerdem wollen viele die Unabhängigkeitserklärung hören.
DeleteJa, diese Orgel ist schon toll! Es gibt davon niche mehr viele.
Das ist doch auch eine gute Werbung für das Museum, vielleicht kommen auf die Art und Weise mehr Leute, wenn es ihnen an diesem Tag gefallen hat. Für das Museum wäre das sicher schön, das muss ja auch alles unterhalten werden.
DeleteJa, die neuen Staatsbürger kommen immer mit Familien und Freunden, dann dazu die Richter und Immigrationsbeamten. Ich glaube, sie bekommen auch alle kostenloses Essen. Das ist schon tolle Werbung. Es wird auch immer im lokalen Fernsehen gezeigt.

ReplyDeleteI loved celebrating the Fourth at Sturbridge. I loved hearing the fife and drum corps and the Declaration of Independence . . and I loved watching the parade. Even though it was a very hot day for you, the photos look very light and airy, inside and outside.
I remember you going there, but I don't remember that you heard it played. This woman is the only one who can play it, I think.
DeleteToo bad that you cannot go to Sturbridge anymore. Well, I guess you could, but without the girls and a major reason, it must be too far to go.
I think all the green makes it look light :). We did cool off in the gallery twice. That building is air-conditioned.
Flora's haircut is lovely on her! Do you both like your cuts?
ReplyDeleteYes, I like my cut too, it is very similar to Flora's, just a bit shorter in the back than hers. (Mine is an "inverted layered bob.") We both have curly hair, but hers is thicker than mine. My thick hair days are over. Peter thought I should have a picture of Flora and me, but I hate having my picture taken.
DeleteI bet Miriam was hot wearing all those clothes and Flora looks even more cute with her new haircut!
ReplyDeleteActually, she said that that particular dress was not as bad as some other ones. Flora loves her long hair, but it gets so hot in the summer because she has so much and it is very heavy. So for the summers she likes to wear it shorter. Thanks for the compliment.
