Flughafen in Buffalo
Heute haben wir Miriam zum Flughafen gebracht. Sie hat ein Stipendium für ein zweiwöchiges Sommerprogramm bei einem College in New Hampshire gewonnen.

Miriam is eating an early lunch before her flight to Boston. She then had to take the bus to Concord. In Concord she got picked up and driven to her destination.
Miriam ißt ihr Mittagessen vor dem Flug nach Boston. Von dort aus mußte sie dann den Bus nach Concord nehmen, wo sie mit dem Auto abgeholt und an ihr Ziel gebracht worden ist.

This was not her plane, but Flora thought the wolf on it was so pretty.
Das hier war nicht ihr Flugzeug, aber Flora fand den Wolf so schön.
We went to the mall to look for a swimsuit for Veronika and some clothing for Jonathan. After the mall, we headed to downtown Buffalo and attended Mass at St. Michael's Church, which used to be a German church.
Wir sind dann in ein Einkaufszentrum gegangen, wo wir einen Badeanzug für Veronika und ein paaar Kleider für Jonathan gesucht haben. Dann ging es weiter in die Innenstadt von Buffalo, wo wir zur Messe in der St. Michael Kirche gegangen sind. Diese Kirche ist ursprünglich eine Kirche für deutsche Einwanderer gewesen.

Wow, well done Miriam!! You and Peter have done a fab job in raising confident and well rounded young people. Tell Flora I too love the wolf ❤️
ReplyDeleteWell, we are working on it :). It is a long process. But we are glad that she made it and managed all aspects of her trip without knowing a soul.

Ach Du liebe Güte, Eva, wie machst Du das nur. :-D Ständig reisen immer mehr Deiner Kinder - das kann ich mir noch gar nicht vorstellen. Für die Kinder sind das ja tolle Erfahrungen und ihr habt Euch bei der Heimkehr wieder so viel zu erzählen, das finde ich schön. Ich denke mir, wenn man es beim ersten geschafft hat wird es vielleicht beim zweiten leichter.
ReplyDeleteJa, ich weiß auch nicht, wie das so passiert ist . . . Dabei ist es in Amerika viel schwieriger ohne Auto und Eltern zu reisen. Meine Schwiegereltern sind immer ein wenig entsetzt, wenn wir die Kinder so etwa machen lassen. Doch würde ich noch nicht Veronika und Flora alleine solche Reisen machen lassen. Ja, ich glaube auch, wenn das erste Kind erstmal selbständig wird, dann geht es bei den anderen leichter.

You must be very pleased for her and proud of her abilities. It's very exciting to go off with the blessing of your family and learn new things. I think it's a busy summer for you xoxo
ReplyDeleteYes, the dragon does not look fierce :). Miriam is doing the summer program that gives her a taste of a great books college. She has take classes in philosophy, politics. choir, theology, and literature. They also go hiking, berry picking, canoeing, sightseeing, play games, have rosaries, confessions, daily Mass, etc. So far, she loves it! It seems to be perfect for her. From all my five children, Flora and Miriam are the ones that love to be with lots of other people the most (although Flora also tires of the excitement quickly). I am so happy she decided to apply and do this! Yes, this summer is crazy. Peter has driven 2,000 miles in two weeks so far! With all our activities we will not be able to drive to Indiana this year. It is simply impossible to find the time.
