He discovered this church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Er hat diese Kirche entdeckt, "Unsere Liebe Frau vom dem Berge Karmel".

The bad, smoky air seems to be slowly lifting. This morning, it smelled a lot like fire, but it does less so now. Hopefully, it will be much better by tomorrow. Veronika and Flora took parts of their standardized tests for the end of their school year today. Tomorrow, we will go on a field trip with our homeschool group and finish up the tests by the end of the week.
I love Peter's photos, especially of the snail and the pretty bird :) Santa Barbara is a special place :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dorina, he sent so many and saw so many interesting things (new ones, he had not seen before). Now he is back home after a terrible flight back with canceled flights and a "forced" stay in Chicago. He missed the First Holy Communion at our church where he was supposed to play. Luckily, Miriam, Veronika, and Charlotte took over and came up with hymns to sing. They led the congregation without organ and it did work out after all.
DeleteOh, it does sound so crazy! It's stressful when travel plans are disrupted and go awry. Thank goodness he's better and you can all have some time at home.
DeleteWhen he arrived in Chicago, they told him that the connecting flight had some technical problems with the bathrooms. Then they were told that there were some general technical problems. However, after a while, the news was that the technical crew had left without telling anybody if the plane had been fixed or if there were still problems. Then there was no news for while. Finally, they were told that they would get a new plane, but they had not found a new pilot. They found a pilot, but could not find a crew. So they bussed all the people to a motel close to Chicago. When they arrived there, some fool caused the fire alarm to go off because he burned a waffle in a toaster oven. The motel was not allowed to turn the alarm off, but had to wait for the fire trucks to arrive -- although there was no fire. So for a long time, the loud fire alarm was disturbing everybody. There were also several foreigners on the same flight who did not understand all those problems and Peter kindly helped them out. And he was so tired because he had to get up at 4 o' clock a.m. in California to catch his flight!
