Bluebirds/Hüttensänger

A flock of bluebirds came by, but they were very shy and we could not get great pictures.  Jonathan and Charlotte traveled back to their universities on Monday, our workers in the basement/garage are still making a LOT of noise, and Miriam had her first "schooling" for her job with an elderly couple (he is 99, she is 96!) here in town.  She will have to travel to Jamestown to sign paperwork before she can start.  Why there is not a closer place, is beyond me, but that is how it is.  Jamestown is at least 1.5 hours from here.

The plane in the distance (the slightly larger one) was Jonathan's!  (P.S. Jonathan tells me that that was not his plane -- Peter took the picture and thought it was Jonathan's plane.)

  1. 99 and 96! That is amazing and wonderful. I'm sorry you have to go so far for the paperwork, but I'm sure it will be rewarding for all. Is it through your church, and is the couple nearby? I hope you can share a little bit about their day. I think it sounds so nice for a young person to work with older folks. I think the couple would certainly appreciate Miriam's energy and grace.

The bluebird photo is very artsy, and it's exciting that they passed through.

    1. Yes! They have lived in the same house for 60 years. It is through the village community (which is larger than the church). But the payment for Miriam comes from some place in Jamestown -- I have not quite understood how it works. The couple has worked as missionaries. Afterwards, he worked as a doctor and she as a nurse in our area for many years. The man's grandmother comes from Germany (Alsace). Yes, I will share Miriam's work. She already received a free copy of a book Mr. P. (the man) has written about his life and adventures. And yes, it is about 15 minutes by foot from us.

The bluebirds are not easy to photograph and we don't see them often. It was a complete surprise.
