It is hard to see, but they put up the snow fences along the road on the way to ballet. They will help to prevent the snow from blowing onto the street in the winter. Veronika took the pictures while I was driving.
Man kann es nicht gut sehen, aber sie haben die Schneezäune entlang der Straße zum Ballett aufgestellt. Sie sollen verhindern, daß der Schnee im Winter auf die Straße bläst. Veronika hat die Fotos gemacht, während ich gefahren bin.

Während die Mädchen getanzt haben, war ich einkaufen. Wir haben auch Bücher, die ich bei der Bücherei reserviert hatte, abgeholt.

Diesen riesigen Kürbis habe ich kostenlos bei der Bücherei bekommen. Sie haben dort oft kostenloses Gemüse oder Obst.
This week is kind of hectic here: Peter is teaching more and often until 10:00 p.m. On Monday, I took Julius to the vet again. He had a thyroid test done, which came back negative. We also scheduled an appointment for some dental work: His teeth are not good and the vet has to pull one or two. Otherwise, he is doing a bit better. We switched him to a different food (grain-free) and are giving him Cosequin to help with his joints and salmon oil for cats as recommended by our vet.
Diese Woche ist ziemlich hektisch. Peter unterrichtet mehr und oft bis 22.00 Uhr! Am Montag war ich mit Julius wieder beim Tierarzt für einen Schilddrüsentest, aber der war in Ordnung. Seine Zähne sind jedoch sehr schlecht und ein oder zwei müssen nächste Woche gezogen werden. Sonst geht es ihm aber ein wenig besser. Er bekommt anderes Futter und Cosequin für Katzen. Das hilft den Gelenken. Dazu hat unsere Tierärztin noch Lachsöl für Katzen empfohlen.
Such good news about Julius! It's nice that he's feeling a little better, and that your vet has been so helpful. Where did you get the salmon oil? That's interesting. Is it specifically for cats, or just from the health food store?
ReplyDelete10 pm is late for Peter to be working. Greg actually worked until then this evening, also. He's had a few extra projects this fall. They're hard workers.
I love picking up books from the library . . you filled the trunk with many good things, including that huge squash. It's nice the library puts out fruit and vegetables . . do you think they're from the librarian's gardens?

DeleteMaybe Pluto would benefit from it? I think it is a good product. We also ordered a powder for his teeth and something to help aging cats mentally. We will see how he responds to those.

I never know where those veggies and the fruit come from, but they are grown locally, I know that. There are many people working at the library, lots of volunteers. I bet they comes from one of them.
Ich kann die Schneezäune erkennen! Sowas habe ich noch nie gesehen. Aber der Grund ist ja sehr verständlich. Gute Nachrichten zu Julius sind das doch! Freut mich, dass es ihm besser geht. Unsere Woche bzw die letzten zwei Wochen waren auch so hektisch, dass ich zu wenig gekommen bin.
ReplyDeleteSie werden jedes Jahr aufgestellt und dann wissen wir, daß die echte Schneezeit nicht mehr weit ist. Diese Strecke ist so gefährlich im Winter: es geht ganz geradeaus, aber der Wind bläst so stark, daß man vor Schnee manchmal die Straße nicht sehen kann. Ich verstehe gar nicht, daß alles so hektisch ist. Wahrscheinlich ist es eine Kombination von Julius, Peters zusätzlicher Arbeit, Corona und einfach Homeschooling in den höheren Klassen.
DeleteJa, meistens sind es Kombinationen von Stress bzw. von viel Arbeit auf unterschiedlichen Leveln. Das Coronathema ist ja auch nicht gerade erbaulich. Ja, ich weiss was Du meinst, diese Schneeverwehungen sind gefährlich, da hätte ich Angst, zu fahren.
DeleteStimmt, nein Corona ist traurig und auch sonst ist man viel isolierter im Moment. Ich mag diese Strecke da gar nicht, letztes Jahr ist dort eine Mutter mit zwei Kindern verunglückt. Die Mutter war tot, die Kinder haben überlebt. Das war im Nebel, aber im Schnee ist das genauso schlimm.
DeleteJa, daran erinnere ich mich das muss so schlimm sein für die armen Kinder. Da möchte ich auch nicht langfahren müssen.
