Today is the feast day of St. Michael, the Archangel. We changed our routine and played "educational games," baked Michaelmas oat bars, read stories, and drove to ballet. Yesterday, we baked our Michaelmas bread. The pictures you see here are from yesterday and today.
Heute feiern wir den heiligen Erzengel Michael. Wir haben unseren normalen Tagesablauf etwas abgeändert und Lernspiele gespielt, Hafergebäck für Michaeli gebacken, Geschichten gelesen und sind zum Ballettunterricht gefahren. Gestern haben wir unser traditionelles Michaelibrot gebacken. Die Fotos, die man hier sieht, sind von gestern und heute.

Miriam is learning about mimicry and made a fake "moth." She then hid it in the living-room for the other girls to search for.
Miriam lernt etwas über Mimikry. Dafür hat sie eine unechte "Motte" gemalt und sie dann versteckt. Die anderen Mädchen mußten sie suchen.

For science, Flora hat do find different samples of soil in our yard and we looked which one was closest to good humus.
Für Naturkunde mußte Flora verschiedene Bodenproben im Garten suchen. Wir haben dann geguckt, welche Stellen besonders viel Humus haben.
Flora also started to design some cards for a French vocabulary game we are going to play.
Flora hat auch angefangen ein paar Kärtchen zu gestalten, die wir für ein französisches Wörterspiel benutzen wollen.

Hier kann man das Lied von oben hören, auch wenn die Aufnahme nicht perfekt ist. Wir haben es jeden Tag in den letzten Wochen gesungen. Es stammt aus Music Through the Grades.
It has been such a drastic change! I am not ready for this. I still have so much yard work to do! Flora loved those soil experiments. She let everybody guess where in your yard she had found the different samples.
Loved the 2010 photo, way too cute! Pip made our dragon yeast free scone bread it was delicious 😋. I guess at some point I’ll get round to sharing some photos. Your beautiful card arrived yesterday and provided much needed solace yesterday, you are a very dear friend ❤️❤️
I was a bit sad not to have all five children gathered around my table for the bread anymore . . . Jonathan noticed that he was still without glasses in the picture. I am so glad the card got there so quickly, amazing! My dad sent a parcel for Flora and it took over three months. So nice you got to bake a dragon as well. I am looking forward to seeing your pictures.
Da habt Ihr aber auch einen schönen Michaelitag verbracht. Was habt Ihr in das Brot getan, sind das Rosinen? Ist das ein süßes Brot? Ich glaube, ich habe die Motte gesehen! :-) Flora's Essen sieht auch sehr lecker aus! Wie klein die Kinder noch waren... ich finde solche Fotos immer toll, man sieht, was sich alles getan hat in den Jahren und trotzdem sind die Kinder irgendwie gleich geblieben. Ist das eine Waldorfschule,die das Lied singt?
Ja Rosinen, es sollten Korinthen sein, aber die Läden in der näheren Umgebung verkaufen die nicht. Es ist leicht süß, also es ist Zucker drin, aber nicht viel, so 100 Gramm vielleicht. Die Motte sitzt auf der Gardine :). Flora kocht gerne. Ja, die Kinder sehen eigentlich noch recht gleich aus. Flora hat sich am meisten verändert, finde ich. Ich glaube, das ist eine Waldorfschule, die in einer öffentlichen Einrichtung singt.
Korinthen sind hier auch nicht immer leicht zu bekommen. Zu dem Zucker: ich finde, man kommt sowieso meist mit weniger Zucker aus als im Rezept steht. Jedenfalls sieht das Brot lecker aus! Charterschule, den Begriff kannte ich noch gar nicht.

DeleteIch glaube, es ist eine Charterschule. Sie sind oft privat und benutzen Elemente von verschiedenen Erziehungsrichtungen.
