We officially started today and all in all, the day went very smoothly. Each girl had a checklist, generated by the Simply Charlotte Mason Organizer. We also started new main lessons: Flora is doing Botany, Veronika Revolutions, and Miriam Zoology. Miriam also had her first in-person class on campus today. So far, her history class had been online. What did not go so well was the fact that the battery for Veronika's physical science experiment was too week. We will order a stronger one and hope that it will work then.

For handwriting practice, Veronika is continuing with the old German cursive script. It is not in use anymore, but many older letters were written in that particular style.

There was a strong wind all morning and people in the neighboring village were without power.

Miriam is trying to figure out a certain stitch for a felt bird she is making.
Miriam versucht eine bestimmt Stichart für einen Filzvogel herauszufinden.
Flora is choosing wool for felted pebbles she is going to make.
Flora sucht sich Wolle für gefilzte Steine aus.
And then she is doing her cross stitch project.
Dann arbeitet sie weiter an ihrem Kreuzstichprojekt.
There were fireworks in the evening for Labor Day.
Am Abend gab es Feuerwerk zum Tag der Arbeit.
Das ist aber süß von den Kindern, dass Du zum Schulanfang so ein tolles Herz bekommst, und Blumen noch dazu! Du hast Dir auch so viel Mühe gemacht. Sag mal, wo hast Du das Lernheft zum Schreiben für Sütterlin her? Das interesiert mich ich habe es früher von meiner Oma gelernt und wieder alles verlernt. Das würde ich mir auch gerne holen zum Üben. Sehr schöne Eule von Veronika! Mumpels Brief ist längst unterwegs, ich hoffe er kommt bald an.
ReplyDeleteIch war auch ganz überrascht und gerührt. Das gibt einem Auftrieb. Hier kann man das Heft bestellen. Jonathan, Charlotte und Miriam haben auch eins gemacht. Flora macht es nächstes Schuljahr. Danke für das Kompliment für die Eule. Ich finde sie auch sehr schön. Wir freuen uns schon, daß der Brief unterwegs ist.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Dorina! We have finally started and the girls were happy to get going. The pebbles are inspired by The Magic Onions. I needed a quick project with nothing to buy. I think she will like doing it.

Yes, so far it has gone well and we have done a great variety of things. I am not sure how it will be when we will have to drive to ballet again next week. It is just twice a week, though, and never really late, so I am hopeful, we will maintain a strong rhythm.
