We had a beautiful confirmation Mass today. Jonathan was one of the altar servers. Here, he is lighting the candles.
Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Firmungsmesse. Jonathan war einer der Meßdiener. Hier zündet er gerade die Kerzen an.
Anointing with chrism: Miriam has chosen Etheldreda for her confirmation name. St. Etheldreda is one of our favorite churches in London and you can find her relic there.
Miriam wird mit Chrisam gesalbt. Ihr Firmname ist Etheldreda. St. Etheldreda ist eine unserer Lieblingskirchen in London. Dort befindet sich auch eine Reliquie von ihr.

Sie macht ihr Geschenk auf.
We gave her the St. Joseph Confirmation Book. Her sponsor had given her a picture with Jesus, a rosary and the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin. The rosary and book used to belong to our old pastor, Father Jann.
Wir haben Miriam ein Buch für neu Gefirmte geschenkt. Ihre Firmpatin hat ihr ein Bild von Jesus, einen Rosenkranz und Das kleine Offizium geschenkt. Die letzten beiden Dinge haben früher unserem alten Pfarrer gehört.
Ach, das sieht nach einem ganz schönen Tag aus, herzlichen Glückwunsch an Deine Tochter! Schöne Bilder hast Du gemacht und sogar mal wieder ein Familienfoto, auf dem Du auch zu sehen bist. Sehr schön! Miriam sieht richtig schick aus. Viele Grüße an alle.
ReplyDeleteWerde ich ausrichten! Die Religionslehrerin (Miriam macht ihren Religionsunterricht allerdings zu Hause) hat ein paar der Fotos gemacht. Miriam trägt Charlottes Kleid und Veronika hat ihr die Haare hochgesteckt :).

ReplyDeleteIt was a great honor to receive those two gifts from Father Jann. He baptized Miriam and now she has two of his devotional items. So sad he could not see her receiving this sacrament. Yes, we all helped with the Mass, Miriam brought up the gifts with Isaac, Veronika did a wonderful job cantoring with Honus, Peter played lovely (the bishop thanked him personally afterwards) and Flora made sure, everything was right. Miriam's sponsor, Joy, was sitting with us. They had quite a few altar servers, some of Isaac's sister were also serving, and another college student. There were also two deacons, so it got quite crowded with the altar servers, the bishop, the deacons, and our pastor, but they somehow managed.

ReplyDeleteThanks, I had to get up early to start it, but the slow cooker finished the job. They all were happy to get the warm stew after a very late Mass (11:30 p.m.) and a cake and fruit reception after Mass.
