Veronika and Flora are camp assistants this week. Veronika is doing "Confectionary" and Flora is helping with "Fun on the Farm." They brought home their costumes, and, as usual, I had to mend some tears. Now they are all set for tomorrow.
Veronika und Flora helfen diese Woche bei Ferienlagern im Freilicht-museum aus. Veronika ist bei den Kindern, die "Konfektherstellung" machen, und Flora ist bei den Kindern, die "Spaß auf dem Bauernhof" belegt haben. Ihre Kostüme hatten ein paar Risse, die ich heute abend geflickt habe. Das tue ich eigentlich jedes Mal, wenn sie dort aushelfen.

My sewing machine is back from "Dr. Carl" and it seems to be working correctly now.
Meine Nähmaschine ist repariert worden und funktioniert bisher gut.
P.S. We heard and saw the first migrating geese today. I don't think this has ever happened in August!
P.S. Heute haben wir die ersten Gänse gesehen und gehört, die in den Süden ziehen. Das passiert normalerweise nicht im August!
Wow, migrating geese . . that's so interesting. It's funny though, because I remember noticing some with Greg this summer . . I'm not sure if it was in late July or early August. I didn't write about it . . or mark it down . . it's just in my memory. . .

We keep hearing more and more. I wonder if that means that winter will come early? I am so happy that the sewing machine is working again. I had it in Buffalo a few years ago at a very fancy sewing place. It is a Pfaff machine, and Pfaff had told me to take it to that sewing store. However, they messed it all up. I ended up taking it back, but they still did not get it right. So I thought I would try a different repair place. The first time they had it, they managed to get the tension finally fixed, but then the zigzag stitch was not working anymore. So I brought it back, and Dr. Carl looked at it again. That time he fixed it all. Now it seems to be okay.
DeleteYay, so glad your machine is better. Good you persevered! It does seem that fall is definitely coming early. I'm surprised by how cool it's been for the end of August. Every night it gets chilly and falls like fall.
DeleteYes, and I do use my sewing machine for mending a lot. We saw our first fall leaves today. Peter is complaining about the cold because now his birthday month does not feel like it normally feels.
