I have made an appointment for Miriam's college physical and was able to do it on the same day, Veronika has her annual check-up and Flora has a hair appointment. That is quite convenient because our pediatrician and hair place are about 40 minutes from us.
Ich habe für Miriam einen Termin bei unserem Kinderarzt gemacht, weil sie fürs College eine ärztliche Untersuchung braucht. Glücklicherweise konnte ich einen Termini an dem Tag machen, an dem Veronika sowieso eine Vorsorgeuntersuchung und Flora einen Haartermin hat. Da sowohl Kinderarzt wie Friseur 40 Minuten von hier entfernt sind, ist es einfacher, alles an einem Tag zu machen.
Miriam is working at the college bookstore right now. Today they did an inventory and she was gone from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Flora had her last day of walking Cooper. She does not need to walk him during the summer, but pretty soon, she will be taking care of another dog, called Jasper.
Miriam arbeitet im Moment im Buchladen vom College. Heute hatten sie da Inventur und sie mußte von 8.00 Uhr bis 20.00 Uhr arbeiten. Flora hatte heute Cooper zum letzten Mal, weil sie im Sommer nicht mit ihm ausgehen muß. Aber bald bekommt sie einen anderen Hund, um den sie sich im Juni kümmern muß: Jasper.
We are trying to figure out how and when to do summer camp/volunteering at the living history museum this summer. The girls are also still taking art lessons right now and will have their exhibition soon.
Wir versuchen im Moment auch gute Tage/Wochen für Sommerlager und Aushelfen im Freilichtmuseum zu finden. Dann machen die Mädchen auch weiterhin Kunst, weil ihre Ausstellung ja bald stattfindet.
Jonathan recently visited the Carlyle House in Alexandria with some friends. He liked the house quite a bit.
Jonathan war neulich im Carlyle Haus in Alexandria mit einigen Freunden. Es hat ihm gut gefallen.
Was habt Ihr da gepflanzt? Paprika, Tomaten, Petersilie und Thymian? Sieht auf jeden Fall lecker aus. Meine Tomaten sind komplett von Braunfäule befallen. Leider. Total ärgerlich. Oh dann freu ich mich schon auf die Bilder aus dem Museum! Ich gehe hier in der Nähe auch bald wieder denn sie haben eine Sonderausstellung zum Thema Nutzgärten wie sie früher waren.
ReplyDeleteGenau! Das ist "German Thyme"! Keine Ahnung, warum der so heißt. Oh, das ist aber dumm. Kann man da gar nichts machen? Sterben die Tomaten so? Die Ausstellung über die Nutzgärten klingt toll. Da würde ich auch hingehen.
DeleteIch nehme Dich in Gedanken mit zu der Ausstellung. Die Tomatenfrüchte werden nix wenn die Blätter so befallen sind. Aber ich will nicht meckern, alles andere wächst ja immerhin. Man könnte die Blätter besprühen mit Jauche oder sowas aber das ist mir alles zu kompliziert, was nichts wird kommt raus.

ReplyDeleteThank you! Making many appointments together is even more important with the high gas prices these days. The grow bags are wonderful! We used them last year for the first time and they work very well and are reusable.
DeleteThe Carlyle House was my "find" for Jonathan. He had been many times to Alexandria and was going to take some friends from the Hudson Center there, so I suggested the Carlyle House. He had never heard of it, but thought it looked good and sounded good. So they all went and had a lovely time.
