We read this very inspiring book about Mary Walker, a former slave, who learned to read at age 116!  She was 121 when she died.   

Wir haben ein schönes Bilderbuch über Mary Walker gelesen, eine amerikanische Sklavin, die viel durchgemacht hat, aber mit 116 Jahren Lesen gelernt hat.  Sie ist mit 121 Jahren gestorben.   

Our day was quite normal today. School in the morning and evening and in between a visit to the library, driving to ballet, dancing, and driving back home.  We are working on some new main lessons: Miriam is still doing some hands-on-math, but we are also watching some videos about the American constitution.  Veronika is still doing anatomy/physiology, and Flora is doing a combination of Ancient Egypt and Botany.  Yesterday, she drew a snowdrop and a crocus into her main lesson book.  I will try to post some pictures soon.   

Unser Tag war heute ganz normal: Wir haben unseren Unterricht am Vormittag und Abend gemacht.  Dazwischen waren wir in der Bücherei, dann beim Ballett und sind dann wieder nach Hause gefahren.  Wir machen ein paar neue Hauptepochen: Miriam macht immer noch "Mathe zum Anfassen", aber auch eine Videoserie über die amerikanische Verfassung.  Veronika beschäftigt sich noch mit Anatomie und Physiologie und Flora lernt etwas über das Alte Ägypten und macht auch wieder Botanik.  Gestern hat sie einen Krokus und ein Schneeglöckchen in ihr Heft gezeichnet.  Bilder kommen noch.
