A lady from our old church called to wish Charlotte an early happy birthday. They are sharing the same birthday, October 26, but Mrs. S. is turning 85 and Charlotte is turning 21.
Eine Dame aus unserer alten Kirche hat angerufen, um Charlotte verfrüht zum Geburtstag zu gratulieren. Sie haben beide am selben Tag Geburtstag, aber Frau S. wird 85 und Charlotte 21.
Keys to the door used to be the old saying for 21. Happy birthday to you both but I am really sad to hear about Julius. We spent yesterday afternoon at the hospital with Pip, I thought she had broken her ankle as she slipped coming down the stairs, thankfully it is just a ligament tear. She has an ankle brace and crutches. She is now on the waiting list to see a specialist regarding joint dislocations- jaw, finger, wrist, and knee. I must admit I have lost my spark, I think the past few months have taken its toll on my physical and mental well being, so I have spent the day reading a Christmas book in bed! Much needed escapism 🙂
ReplyDeleteThanks for your good wishes! Yes, in the U.S. she is of legal drinking age now, but that is not really a big deal for her. It is so sad that Julius is not really improving, but he is 14 years old. Poor Pip! I hope it will heal quickly. You know what, I completely sympathize with you! We watched an old German comedy the other day, just to have something light for a change. Reading a Christmas book sounds wonderful!
DeleteIt was a lovely story ❤️ I am now reading a book about an amazing teenager who turned his serious health problems into a spring board for helping others. Then it is Greta Thunberg followed by another trip to the library! We also watched the first Home Alone movie this afternoon it never fails to cheer x
DeleteOh, this is fantastic! We need to find some ways to still keep smiling and laughing. It is probably also good for the immune system. So the library is still open?
DeleteYes they are at the moment but I have a feeling that a national circuit break lockdown will occur at some point.

DeleteWie schön!! Zusammen feiern ist immer schöner als alleine. Euer Tisch sieht sehr hübsch aus, sogar mit Servietten, sehr schick! Resteessen vom Wochenende gibt es hier heute auch.
ReplyDeleteDanke! Wir essen oft Reste am Wochenende, besonders sonntags, weil ich keine Zeit zum Kochen habe. Kirche ist immer um 11.30 Uhr, da kann man unmöglich Mittagessen kochen.
DeleteNein, das wird allerdings knapp. Na, man muss doch auch nicht jeden Tag die Woche frisch kochen finde ich.
DeleteIm Moment koche ich fast immer eine Suppe für sonntags. Das ist einfach und man kann es gut aufwärmen.
