Today/Heute

  • Finished drafting three IHIPs (homeschool plans for NYS that need to be handed in and basically look like a long list of books, bibliography style, and learning objectives).  Now I have to read over them and add final details.
  • Jonathan helped a history professor move a heavy desk in his house.  He got a Turkish coffee for payment and really liked it.
  • Our sink is not leaking anymore.  It took two visits of a plumber to fix it.  The fridge is also working.
  • Our librarian told us that one of the libraries around here lends fancy cake pans and another one fishing poles.  Quite unique, I would say.
  • Flora had a good violin lesson yesterday.
  • Jonathan and Miriam went to the ballet studio in town to dance a bit tonight.
  • Charlotte is working hard for her government class with Peter.
  • Our lawn needs a visit by a lawnmower, but it is either raining or we are gone/busy.
  • Flora has discovered crocheting.  She designed a hammock for her doll and crocheted it today.  This morning she was "calling" her "husband" to ask him if he knew where their daughter's shoes were.  But her husband was busy playing soccer.  She still has not found the shoes.
  • I ran into one of my students on campus yesterday.  He was happy to see me and said something in German.  He is leading one of the soccer camps on campus.
  • Jonathan is driving to a get-together with some St. Vincent College friends in Pennsylvania tomorrow.  The parents of one of his friends have offered him to spend the night because he has to drive so far.  Why the young people do the get-together now, so close to the new semester, is beyond my understanding.

  2. Hello Eva, Congrats on getting the drafts completed for your three IHIPs.

My mom used to take out prints of famous paintings from our public library when I was little, but we never had the option for fishing poles or cake pans!

Awhile ago you had recommended a movie about a composer that you had either taken out of the library, or watched online. Do you remember which composer this was?

My blog link isn't showing up on your blog list. Is there trouble with the link, or did you take it off?

Have a good Sunday. The weather here has been comfortable (low to mid 80's) but tomorrow and Monday it's supposed to be in the 90's again. xoxoxo

  3. The link to your blog did not give me any updates anymore. It looked like you were not publishing anything, so I took it off. I have a few blogs like this, people do write, but when I add them to my list, it says there is no "feed" for these blogs. I think your blog must block "feeds." I am not sure what a feed is, actually, but that is the note I get when I try to add your blog again.

Let me check my posts for the composer.

It has been quite warm here, but still bearable. We are also supposed to get those high temperatures.

  4. Thanks for suggesting the Foster song, but it was something else: a movie about a composer on Amazon. I'm sorry I am so unsure of it! Perhaps it was a link from somewhere else! I really appreciate you checking for me, though.

Yay, the link works again! I remember making some changes to my feed in the past when you said it wasn't updating. Perhaps it just took awhile to re-adjust.

    1. Hm, I don't recall a movie like that. We did watch the Frank Lloyd Wright movie, but that is not a composer :). I asked the children and they don't remember a composer movie either. I checked through my posts again, entering different search words, but did not come up with any composer.

It is great that it is working again! Yes, sometimes those changes take a while.
