Veronika and Miriam had to work this morning (from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.). They mainly cleaned bathrooms in the equestrian center, a dorm, and the gym. Jonathan is watching the fireworks at the Mall. There are no fireworks here today. There were some last night, but we could not really see them because of all the trees around here.

Veronika und Miriam mußten heute vormittag arbeiten (von 7.00 Uhr bis 12.00 Uhr). Sie haben vor allen Dingen Toiletten im Reitzentrum, einem Studentenwohnheim und einer Sporthalle geputzt. Jonathan sieht sich heute abend Feuerwerk auf der Mall in Washington an. Hier war heute kein Feuerwerk, aber gestern konnte man welches hören, doch wegen der Bäume nicht sehen.

And today, we had several deer taking a walk on our street.

Peter's eggs look very good :) I sautéed garlic scapes with zucchini the other day. My sister used to clean bathrooms at Jones Beach. She worked there one summer when home from college. She loved being by the water and walking along the sand and lying in the sun during her breaks . . Chanda sent me a video of the fireworks from a friend's rooftop in Brooklyn. It was rather wild! (Which I remember from when Greg and I lived in Dyker Heights . . fireworks going off everywhere! My favorite time of seeing the fireworks was from our rooftop here in our complex when they were set off over the Hudson one year, quite awhile ago . . )
ReplyDeleteThe girls love them, but Peter does not like garlic scapes. He hates the smell. I think garlic scapes are wonderful. They must go well with zucchini. Do people just watch the fireworks from the rooftop or are they actually setting them off there?
