Peter sent me these two pictures yesterday when he was in Geneseo with Miriam.
He titled this: Airport check-in
Dieses hat er "Flughafen Check-in" genannt.
And here: Waiting at the Gate
Und hier: "Warten auf den Abflug"
In case you think that somebody is flying somewhere, you are wrong: Miriam was at our allergist's office to pick up allergy drops. The allergist had moved to a new office. We had seen how they built this building, but had no idea it was going to be a doctor's office. It had looked more like a car dealership. We think it is completely hideous and anonymous. Peter and Miriam also went grocery shopping and Miriam had the great opportunity to practice driving outside of our county. On the way back, they picked up books I had put on hold at the library.
Is this the doctor's office Eva? We have many more self checkouts for newly renovated stores like Bed, Bath and Beyond, but I haven't seen this yet for a doctor's office. It's so sad, and I think we should make an effort to NOT create such spaces.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is! To me it looks like they don't want so see their patients anymore, just have them scan their insurance cards.
DeleteTo say it in a more positive manner, we should create our living spaces to be full of person to person connections and relationships!!
ReplyDeleteYes, but apparently, the Rochester health system thinks differently. Miriam said the doctor's assistant, whom she was seeing, did not even bother to enter the room. He stood at the door and seemed to be not very eager to talk to her. I really don't know if we should go back, but there are no ENTs in our area.
DeleteWhat a strange situation. (sigh) Why is so hard to find good doctors?!
DeleteBecause many doctors are more interested in making money than treating people.
