We had a productive day, but again, I did not take many pictures, I keep forgetting! Veronika and I read about Columbus and his voyages. Miriam and I read about Edward VI, and Flora and I learned about prepositions.
Heute haben wir gut gearbeitet, aber ich habe nicht viele Fotos gemacht, weil ich nie dazu komme! Veronika und ich haben etwas über Kolumbus gelesen, Miriam und ich etwas über das Leben von Eduard VI von England und Flora hat mit mir etwas über Präpositionen gelernt.
Flora and I also played a math game where she had to keep score. She told me that her two score columns were doing the social distancing! Here is a picture of them. There are six spaces apart . . .
Flora und ich haben ein Mathespiel gespielt, bei dem sie die Punkte von uns beiden zusammenzählen mußte. Sie hat zwei Spalten aufgeschrieben und dabei darauf geachtet, daß sie den vorgeschriebenen Mindestabstand von 6 Fuß (1,5 m) (6 Kästchen) eingehalten haben. Diese neue Maßnahme muß einen tiefen Eindruck auf sie gemacht haben!
I am using the forum on Moodle for my students and post a new question before class time three times a week. Today I posted a picture of the weather here in Houghton and all my students posted pictures of the places they are at and added some information about the weather at their place in German. We had pictures from Maryland, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and New York. I think they all had fun doing it.
Ich benutze ein Kommunikationsforum bei Moodle mit meinen Studenten. Heute habe ich ein Foto von dem Wetter hier bei uns hochgeladen und die Studenten eingeladen, Fotos aus ihren Heimatorten zu schicken und ein paar Dinge auf Deutsch über das Wetter zu schreiben. Das haben sie alle gemacht und so fühlten wir uns verbunden. Wir hatten Fotos aus New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont und Maryland. Meine Studenten bekommen dreimal so einen Auftrag und müssen auf diesem Forum irgendetwas auf Deutsch zu meinem Eintrag schreiben. Wenn sie Fehler machen, ist das ganz egal, es soll einfach ihr Deutsch üben.
On our nature walk, we saw some signs of spring! I love the fresh green of skunk cabbage and it is starting to grow!
Bei unserem Spaziergang haben wir weitere Frühlingsanzeichen gesehen. Ich mag gerne wie das frische neue Grün des Stinkkohls aussieht. Er fängt jetzt an zu wachsen.

Hier habe ich gerade online Sprechstunde, Miriam macht eine Mathelektion zu Ende (Jonathan hilft ihr gerade) und Jonathan arbeitet an seinem Französischkurs.
Mary and the angel look so nice on your table :) It was another busy learning day for all of you. Flora is funny and quite right :) It's nice seeing everyone working on their projects, yet all together, so well (though I know it must not be easy). It looks like all your snow is gone, and it's exciting to see the hyacinths. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThey are a perfect fit for it :). It is nice to have Jonathan and Charlotte back. They have their own things to do, but both of them have helped their younger siblings. It is a bit cramped, but we manage. Yes, the snow is gone, although we have more in the forecast.
DeleteI love Our Lady and The Angel and my goodness Christmas will be upon us before we know it! Isn't it great to be able to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and enjoy looking for signs of Spring. I hope that you manage to have some quiet time over the weekend xx
ReplyDeleteThose two figures are a present from Dorina :). Yes, Christmas will come (although I hope there will be a somewhat normal summer in between). Well, quiet time is not really possible these days. We clean on Saturdays and that takes most of the day. Whatever time is left over is spent on Moodle. I am actually working on another German week right now.
