Peter Lustig

Two days after my birthday in February, Peter Lustig died.  Peter Lustig had been making children's TV programs for many years, starting when I was about 11.  All his programs revolve around nature and social studies,   He will never know it, but his wonderful, wonderful way of making complicated concepts easy for children has been a tremendous help in our homeschool for the elementary school years.  You can find most of the old TV episodes on YouTube.  The full list of titles (in German) can be found here.  We are also quite fond of his children's encyclopedia.  Veronika is learning all about hedgehogs right now -- we are reading about them in Charles Kovacs' The Human Being and the Animal World.  Since they do not live on this continent we are watching Peter Lustig's episode on hedgehogs, perfect for us.

    1. Yes, he is really crazy when it comes to his yard. He is in many of the episodes. Too bad it does not exist in English.
