With so much excitement about Miriam's (and Peter's trip), I have not had a chance to upload Charlotte's pictures from last weekend. Her college roommate Rebecca and she drove into the mountains to explore their surroundings a a bit. Here are the pictures she sent.

Peter just landed in Buffalo and will be home in a few hours. It will be good to have him back home. We will be going to an art museum with the London students tomorrow. My students had to show their immediate family tree to each other in class today, explaining their family in German too each other. They had a lot of fun and did not notice when our class time was up. They would have continued talking to each other. The girls (Veronika and Flora) got their cast list for the Nutcracker and have started practicing for that. Jonathan is taking the train to Virginia today. He is having a meeting with the clerks of the judge he is going to work for once he is done with his studies. Miriam took a nice long walk in the Austrian countryside today. Classes start next week.
Such beautiful photos from Charlotte! And it's nice to hear that Miriam is enjoying beautiful walks also. Good luck to Flora and Veronika with Nutcracker. How fun to have rehearsals beginning. Tis the season! Can't believe it's here already. Enjoy having Peter back and I hope Jonathan's visit went well.
ReplyDeleteShe took some more this weekend. I finally realized that the area around Denver is exactly like the area in the Nicola Valley, in British Columbia, where I was an exchange -student for a year. The vegetation, the climate, the mountains: all is so similar! I am not ready for the Nutcracker at all! I am happy to have Peter back. Jonathan's visit did go well, but the trip back did not. He got stuck at Dulles and was not home until 2 or 3 in the morning. He was meeting all the clerks (future and past) of the judge he will clerk for after getting his law degree.
DeleteThat sounds like it was an important meeting for Jonathan. What town were you in as an exchange student? Janet grew up in Kamloops! I always love hearing from her how beautiful the area is.
DeleteI think it was. After all, he will be working with some of these people. He complained about the heat, though. I was in Merritt, which is not too far from Kamloops. We went to Kamloops many times. It is a wild sort of beauty, but also very dry. I did not like that all green disappeared in the summer.
