Flora took these pictures this morning while were were driving to her routine well-child visit.

We had a very pleasant visit with our pediatrician. He has been our pediatrician for about 22 years now. That is hard to believe!
Wir hatten einen schönen Arztbesuch bei unserem Kindearzt. Seit ca. 22 Jahren gehen wir zu ihm und er kennt alle Kinder sehr gut.
Then I had to cook and Flora and Veronika continued with their schoolwork. After lunch, I went onto campus to teach German, while Flora walked to her art class. After teaching, I came back home and Veronika left to meet with my more advanced German student to read a book. I picked up Flora from art and we went to her physical therapy appointment.
Dann mußte ich kochen und Flora und Veronika haben ihre Schularbeit gemacht. Nach dem Mittagessen mußte ich Deutsch unterrichten und Flora ist zu ihrer Kunststunde gegangen. Nach dem Unterricht ist Veronika auf den Campus gegangen, um mit meinem fortgeschrittenen Studenten ein Buch zu lesen. Ich habe Flora bei Kunst abgeholt und sie dann zum Krankengymnast gefahren.
Here, she is doing stretching exercises at a barre. The PT also massaged her foot and did many exercises where she had to sit.
Hier macht sie Dehnungsübungen. Der Krankengymnast hat auch ihren Fuß massiert und viele Übungen im Sitzen mit ihr gemacht.
At the end, they iced her foot.
Am Ende wurde ihr Fuß dann mit Eis gekühlt.
We stopped at the library to pick up a book on the way back and went home. Now we are waiting for Peter to come home, who is in Buffalo.
Dann haben wir noch bei der Bücherei angehalten, um ein Buch abzuholen und sind nach Hause gefahren. Jetzt warten wir auf Peter, der in Buffalo ist.
I think I did enough driving for the day.
Ich glaube, ich bin heute genug Auto gefahren.
Haha, das glaube ich auch. Aber ihr habt ja auch gut was geschafft. Einen schönen Tag noch. Und nicht zu viel Schnee!!
ReplyDeleteJa, wir waren sehr effektiv :). Der Schnee ist weg und kann auch bis nächste Woche wegbleiben, weil wir für die Nußknackeraufführungen so viel fahren müssen.

DeleteYes, enough driving especially with the snow :) At least it wasn't actually snowing while you were on the road. It was a very pretty day. Does Flora feel her ankle getting better? When I was Flora's age, we also had a pediatrician whom we had been with for many years. It's nice. I miss the General Practitioner we used to have when the girls were young. He left in 2016 to work as a director of integrative health for Veteran's Affairs. I think he looked forward to helping veterans in that capacity.
ReplyDeleteJust at the very end it started to snow again. It is more her tendon when she is on pointe. She is not sure yet, but she keeps doing her exercises and we are going to the physical therapy once a week. Our pediatrician is really special. I think it is great that your practitioner wanted to help veterans although it must have been hard to lose him. We still have not found a good general doctor around here.
DeleteIt's not easy finding a good doctor . . Your blog is loading much more easily for me these days. It used to take awhile for the reply box to open up, and now it does so immediately. Interesting!

DeleteI’m glad Flora’s paediatric visit went well and how lovely that this doctor has supported your family for 22 years, that is real continuity of care 🙂. You’ve had snow and we have had some very frosty days and sub zero temperatures xx
ReplyDeleteYes, she even grew a bit and has reached the 10th percentile. Quite an achievement for her. Oh, how is the frost now? It is quite warm here again.
