We cleaned and baked.
Wir haben geputzt und gebacken.
Charlotte's scones for breakfast tomorrow morning
We also read this pretty picture book (paid link).
Wir haben auch dieses schöne Bilderbuch gelesen. Leider gibt es noch keine deutsche Übersetzung.
Your day at the post office sounds nice. It's funny how complicated it's become to send items overseas . . with all the information that has to be inputted into the computer - a system that is supposed to make things easier? :) It's not easy for the workers deciphering everyone's handwriting!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte's scones look delicious (chocolate?!) and the book is sweet. xoxo
It used to be so much easier with the old green customs labels. Now, you go to the post office and the workers there have to enter every tiny detail into a computer RIGHT AWAY! That holds up all the other customers. It takes about 5-10 minutes for each package . . . I don't have to fill out anything anymore, but the people in the post office do. They have to enter all those foreign addresses, weight of package, detailed contests, my address, and the value. Then they have to click through millions of screens to find the right country code plus the right way of sending it. It is a nightmare and so hard because of the foreign languages you deal with in the address fields. I wonder what they do when it is Chinese?!?
DeleteYes, chocolate.
Yes! So much information. The green labels were easy as they just stuck them on and shipped it off. How does the postal service handle it in Germany? Are their computers faster . . ?
DeleteThey still have customs forms the sender fills out, so I do think it goes faster. I am not sure if they enter anything into the computer, my family has not mentioned such a complicated process so far.
DeleteInteresting! I'll have to ask Morgana what the procedure is in London.
ReplyDeleteI think England is similar to Germany in this respect. When I mailed another package to Germany today, the lady printed out a new label after she had entered everything into the computer and pasted it over my hand-written address! I thought that was very strange and unnecessary.
