Mount Morris
This afternoon, we visited the New Deal Gallery in Mount Morris. This is an interesting little gallery with paintings of the New Deal time. Right now, there are flower still-lifes on display.
Heute nachmittag waren wir in der "New Deal" Galerie in Mount Morris. Diese Galerie hat Gemälde aus der New Deal Zeit. Im Moment kann man Stilleben mit Blumen sehen.
The art gallery is in old apartment buildings for doctors that worked at the Mount Morris Tuberculosis Sanatorium (1936-1971). It has many interesting details.
Die Galerie ist in den ehemaligen Wohnungen für Ärzte, die im Mount Morris Lungensanatorium (1936-1971) gearbeitet haben.

After the gallery, we visited this cute store/café. Nach der Galerie ware wir in diesem schicken Laden und Café.
It had wonderful potted plants.
Sie hatten dort sehr schöne Topfpflanzen.
This young lady (Flora) was in town to get her booster. Her age group was finally eligible for it.
Diese junge Dame (Flora) war in Mount Morris, um ihre Auffrischimpfung zu bekommen. Ihre Altersgruppe ist erst kürzlich dafür freigegeben worden.
After the booster at Walgreens, we drove home again. Nach dem Impfung im Drogeriemarkt sind wir dann wieder nach Hause gefahren.
Now we have to see how she feels tomorrow. Jetzt müssen wir abwarten, wie es ihr morgen geht.
Wie geht es ihr, ist alles gut gegangen? Der Laden sieht ja sehr schick aus und die Blumen Gemälde kann man in diesem tristen Wetter wohl brauchen oder?
ReplyDeleteAlles ging gut! Sie hatte am nächsten Tag nur einen wehen Arm und war müde, sonst nichts. Wir waren noch nie in diesem Laden gewesen. Er war sehr schön. Und in einer Galerie waren wir auch schon lange nicht mehr. Rundum war es ein schöner Ausflug!
DeleteDas ist schön!! Neue schöne Läden entdecken macht Spaß. Unsere Kinder sind jetzt auch geboostert, wie man hier sagt. Beide allerdings mit Nebenwirkungen. Aber jetzt geht es wieder.
DeleteAh, but, daß jetzt alle besser geschützt sind. Jonathan hat ja auch stark unter den Nebenwirkungen gelitten, aber immer noch besser als die Krankheit.

DeleteHello Eva, what a wonderful visit for a grey day. The paintings are beautiful, (I enjoy looking at still lifes), and the cafe is really sweet and cozy. Is Flora reading Blue Balliett We enjoyed all Ms Balliett's books. (Also that flap for the packages and milk was interesting! Was it located near the floor?)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you showed a clear picture of the front of the cafe as I thought the mouse was a rat at first when I noticed it from the inside :) One of my favorite mouse stories is the Tailor of Gloucester by Beatrix Potter. This cafe makes me think of that.
The photos of the drive home have such a pretty blue for the sky! I hope Flora is feeling well.
Supposedly, this is the second largest collection of New Deal paintings in the country (most of them are in storage and not on display). I have to ask her what she was reading, I don't remember. The flap was about 1 yard up from the floor. It must have been in some kind of vestibule.
DeleteNo, no rat! She had mice pictures all over the place. Yes, that book would go well with the café (or also the title "Two Bad Mice" by the same author).
Flora did quite well with her booster. She was just a bit tired and her arm hurt.
