Weekend/Wochenende

We had to go to the vigil Mass yesterday and tried St. Jude.  It was a very reverent Mass.  The church is out in the country and very small.  

Wir mußten dieses Wochenende zur Samstagsabendmesse gehen und haben die Kirche St. Jude probiert.  Die Messe war sehr andächtig.  Die Kirche ist sehr klein und ganz auf dem Lande.

This morning, at 8 o'clock, Peter drove Miriam to the Buffalo airport.  She got onto her plane to South Carolina and from there to Boston.  When she arrived in Boston, Jonathan had just left Boston, but he took the train.  Miriam had to take the bus to New Hampshire and was picked up to get back to college.  Jonathan is still on the train to Rochester and will not arrive until after midnight.  And of course they also have a long drivee home.  Peter has spent all day in Buffalo and Rochester and will pick him up.  Peter even managed to participate in a Zoom call for a seminar he had been invited to join.  He did it with his laptop in our car in a parking lot.

Heute morgen um 8 Uhr hat Peter Miriam zum Flughafen in Buffalo gefahren.  Ihr Flug ging von da nach South Carolina und dann nach Boston.  Als sie in Boston gelandet ist, war Jonathan gerade in Boston in den Zug nach Rochester gestiegen.  Miriam mußte dann einen Bus nach New Hampshire nehmen und wurde da von Personal ihres Colleges abgeholt und wieder zum College gefahren.  Peter war den ganzen Tag in Buffalo und Rochester und wartet jetzt auf das Eintreffen von Jonathans Zug, der aber erst nach Mitternacht ankommt.  Dann müssen sie natürlich noch nach Hause fahren.  Am Nachmittag hat Peter sogar an einem Zoomseminar teilgenehmen.  Er hat das einfach im Auto auf dem Parkplatz gemacht.

The rest of us spent all day at home.  Veronika mended the Roman blind at our door and Leo thought she did a good job.

Der Rest der Familie war zu Hause.  Veronika hat diese Jalousie repariert und Leo fand, daß sie das gut gemacht hat.

And right with the start of daylight saving time, it snowed.

Und mit dem Beginn der Sommerzeit (letzte Nacht) hat es natürlich wieder angefangen, zu schneien.

Yesterday, we watched some of Jonathan's professors and guest speakers during the Federalist Society's 2024 National Student Symposium with the title: Why Separate Powers?.  We even got to see Jonathan when he asked a question 😀.

Gestern haben wir bei dem Nationalen Studenten Symposium der Federalist Society mit dem Titel: Warum Gewaltenteilung? zugeschaut und nicht nur einige von Jonathans Professoren und Gastredner gesehen, sondern sogar Jonathan selbst, als er eine Frage gestellt hat 😀.
