We left very early to get to the GCV&M. Unfortunately, the roads were very bad because of all the snow we had gotten and after we had driven for about half an hour I was thinking about turning back and going home. But then the roads got better and we made it.
Wir sind heute morgen früh weggefahren, um zum Freilichtmuseum zu kommen. Die Straßen waren nicht gut geräumt und nach einer halben Stunde Fahrzeit habe ich erst überlegt, ob ich wieder nach Hause fahren sollte, doch dann wurden die Straßen besser und wir sind angekommen.

On the way home we stopped at Aldi and Wegmans. Peter was not along because he had a welcome day for the new accepted students and their families on campus.
Auf dem Rückweg haben wir bei Aldi und Wegmans angehalten. Peter konnte heute nicht mitkommen, weil unser College einen Schnuppertag für die neuen Studenten (die im Herbst kommen) und ihre Familien hatte.
Well it might say Spring on the calendar but winter is still hanging on! It was bitterly cold here yesterday with a biting wind and almost freezing rain. The fire was much appreciated. Well done for braving the cold and snow and attending the maple syrup fair. I hope you had a lovely warming tea once you arrived home xx

ReplyDeleteWir sind da so oft und alle Kinder haben geholfen oder helfen noch, daß wir eine kostenlose Mitgliedschaft haben :). Oh ja, die Häuser sind fast alle "bewohnt" (nur jetzt im Winter nicht) und es finden immer Vorträge, Veranstaltungen usw. statt. Die richtige Saison beginnt im Mai.
DeleteThe village is beautiful in the snow! Were you able to try the donuts? I love maple syrup and will often pour spoonfuls for myself. I think Veronika's pale blue dress with the striped shawl is very chic! It looks very nice on her. Thank goodness there was a fire. I love how wonderful it feels when it's below freezing and the snow is on the ground. I hope Peter had a good welcoming session with the new students.
ReplyDeleteYes, it felt like Christmas time :). No, those were not for us to try. Veronika's dress was very pretty. She liked it a lot. Those fires make you aware how good warmth can feel. It was a good time with the new students and parents. He read something with them.
