Concert/Konzert

Peter, Jonathan, Veronika, Flora and I went to a concert tonight.  Charlotte was at the ballet studio.

Veronika participated in a "Stop the Bleed Training Seminar" organized by the Army.  Now she is well prepared for emergencies.  She even got a certificate!

There was no acting class for Flora today because her "school" had a fieldtrip for the full-time students.

Jonathan's time at home is up and he is leaving tomorrow.
Jonathan muß morgen wieder nach Boston zurück.

The old lady in town, where Miriam used to work, passed away.  She has had a full life, but it is still sad.

One of my students discovered a leak in one corner of our classroom today.  After class, I showed it to our secretary and she got the maintenance people right away.  I hope they will be able to fix it.

Hoffentlich kann man da was machen.

I think this is it for tonight!  Not very exciting, but just everyday life.  I could add that I made a shrimp bisque, biscuits, cookies, and pizza toast in addition to doing lots of laundry and homeschooling.  I talked to a former student of mine and also to some friends at the concert.  Time for bed!

  1. Busy day! Especially with making a shrimp bisque, biscuits, cookies and pizza toast! That is a lot of baking along with a seemingly complicated soup. Kudos to you. The concert must have been lovely. Congrats to Veronika with her certificate and I'm sorry to hear about Miriam's elderly lady. That is sad . . and the second one to pass? Wasn't there another elderly person she helped who also passed away? (Did your classroom leak get fixed?)

    1. I guess I outdid myself. Now Veronika is all prepared for emergencies. The concert was very interesting because there were also explanations about the differences in Mass settings. Yes, the husband of Miriam's lady died two years ago. He was 100 and his wife was 99 when she died. She used to take care of both of them. Yes! The leak is fixed. I am not sure what they did, but there was some new paint on the wall. Yesterday, Peter and I detected a very bad smell (like something burning) in our building and we got security to take a look. Apparently something was broken because there were people repairing things all day today.

    2. 100 and 99! That is wonderful. I wonder if all the snow and cold weather causes the building to have these little things go wrong!

    3. Yes, amazing, isn't it? She was a nurse and he was a doctor and they were missionaries in Africa for a long time. Maybe it was the snow and rain in the building. I am not sure. I did not get an explanation. Peter found out that a ventilation motor had stopped turning and the cables had started to melt. That was the awful smell. It was good we had been in the building and had reported the smell.
