I washed our down comforter with a new detergent. It is very good.
I have been baking a lot so the girls have snacks when going to ballet.
Friends have given us lots of vegetables from their garden, including these tomatoes.
We have been eating a lot of watermelon because it is so hot.
I baked some chicken legs.
Ich habe Hühnerbeine gebacken.
One family, for whom Charlotte is working as a tutor, gave her these apples.
Here is Charlotte with some of the other teachers at the Christian academy where she is teaching dance.

My bookshelf is almost finished.
Mein Bücherregal ist fast richtig eingeordnet.
I am using a new planner for my main lessons.
I love fennel tea in the evenings.
Ich trinke abends sehr gerne Fencheltee.

Your week sounded a bit full on with back to college teaching, tech issues and the usual busy family life stuff, I hope you manage a bit of down time over the weekend. It’s been first week back at InterHigh for Pip alongside one full college day at Myerscough in Landscape Design. Her college day was very challenging on so many levels including struggling to hear and remember instructions due to the hearing loss and a whole heap of walking around campus which caused an exacerbation in PoTS symptoms which wasn’t great. Despite all of that she persevered and we are really proud of her 🩷. I’ve also had a formal PoTS diagnosis from cardiology and so I’m now on the same meds as Pip. Some really good news is that we’ve managed to attend the Saturday evening mass three weeks in a row, Praise God!! Three weeks ago I dug out my brown scapular and Our Lady of Carmel got to work 🙂. Sending hugs to you xxxx
ReplyDeleteIt was quite hectic, hot, and overwhelming and I slept in until 8:30 this morning. Saturday is cleaning and baking day, though. I just finished the cleaning (the girls helped) and now I am about to do some more homeschool planning. Charlotte is baking.
DeleteOh, Pip is doing two things at the same time? Is she going to follow in her big sister's footsteps? I did not know she was interested in landscape design. What is Ben doing? I am sorry to hear that you got the same diagnosis as Pip. Are the meds helping? How wonderful you have been able to go back to Mass! It must have been the scapular :). I am glad you are doing okay. I had been wondering about you and had been thinking about sending you a cheerful note via snail mail. And how is Dave? Sending lots of love to all of you!
Does Jonathan like it better where he is now? Miriam's drawings are lovely. Our last watermelon was terrible! It's nice that you have been able to still have ones that taste fresh.
ReplyDeleteJonathan is a complicated soul: I think he likes the people better. Some of his Hertog Foundation friends are there and he gets along with them very well. I think Harvard has more students in law that have different interests and do not want to end up at some big law firm. That was his main reason to transfer: He is more interested in security law or international law and Georgetown had less of that. However, I think his M.A. did do some of that and he will go back in two years to finish that program. So, I am not sure if he likes it better, it is too early to tell. I would have not liked to be "forced" to get those immunizations if I had been him! His dorm is much simpler than at Georgetown. He is in the Gropius Complex (it was really built by Walter Gropius!) and has to share a bathroom with quite a few other men and women from his floor! He also does not have a kitchen anymore. But he bought himself a small fridge. So we will see how it goes. He is quite close to Miriam and they thought they should try to get together sometime.
DeleteMiriam is enjoying that drawing class.
Was your watermelon overripe?
