Violin and Snow/Geige und Schnee

Miriam missed her bus to Boston this morning, but managed to catch a later one and still caught her flight to NYC and then Rochester.  Peter picked her up at the airport and also picked up a rental violin for Flora: This is her first full violin!  We are renting it from Payton Violins, a wonderful violin place.  Veronika took some pictures.

They made it home in the nick of time before the snow started.

Charlotte was working on a political science paper all afternoon.  She is writing about Syria and Iran.

Snow this evening
Schnee heute abend

It is still snowing.
Es schneit noch.

Miriam, Flora, and Veronika played "Sorry!" while Charlotte was (and is) still writing.

Peter bought me these pretty roses yesterday!

  1. Congrats to Flora on her new violin, and how nice it will be to play. We didn't get any snow today, and it looks like your snow was very wet and slushy (but still pretty). It's good the travelers arrived before it began (that's quite a trek for Miriam). I hope Charlotte has finished her paper now :) It must feel nice to have them home . . and your roses are beautiful! How thoughtful of Peter.

    1. She tried it out with her teacher yesterday and liked it! Yes, it was kind of wet, but it is still on the ground. We had snow/and freezing rain, which made the roads very slippery. I am so glad that the traveling worked out after all! Charlotte is done with the paper, but tonight she is typing on some kind of forum for the same class. It is a very labor-intensive class, even during break. I was very surprised to get roses without any special reason, very sweet!

  2. Thank goodness the travellers arrived home before the storm set in. I hope Charlotte manages to finish her paper and enjoy some family time this week. Those roses are gorgeous and yay for Flora’s new violin she must be super pleased ❤️

    1. I was very relieved that it worked out with all the traveling. Charlotte finished her paper and is now working on forum posts for the same class. It is kind of funny that she is taking a class about the Middle East, a region, Jonathan is very interested in. Flora is glad to have a "real" violin now. She must be getting big. The girls are playing lots of games, are going for walks, and doing crafts. They are also reading books to each other. And the roses are a true sign of love!
