We read this wonderful picture book, which is a true story.  A prisoner (Elliot Michener) at Alcatraz turns the island into a beautiful garden.  You can read more about the book here.

Dieses schöne Bilderbuch beschreibt wie der Häftling Elliot Michener die berüchtigte Gefängnisinsel Alcatraz in einen Garten verwandelt.  Leider gibt es das Buch nicht auf Deutsch.

      It is a moving story and a pretty book. I discovered that the author has written many more interesting books and I reserved a few.
