Child number 2: We are working on the Common Application for Charlotte. It is still a very complicated and time-consuming process for homeschoolers (nothing has changed much since when I did this for Jonathan), especially since each college wants different items, including a detailed description with all high school classes she has ever taken, listing the educational methods and outcomes and all materials/books used.
Kind Nummer 2: Wir arbeiten an College Bewerbungen für Charlotte. Es ist immer noch, wie schon bei Jonathan, ein sehr komplizierter Prozeß, der für europäische Länder noch komplizierter zu verstehen ist als für die Leute hier.
We went on a mini field trip today: We had a private info session on the Renwick House in Belfast. Unfortunately, the house has been completely neglected by the current owner, but it used to be a magnificent mansion, which also served as an underground railway stop.
Heute haben wir einen Miniausflug gemacht: Wir haben eine private Informationsveranstaltung über eine alte Villa in Belfast in New York gehabt. Das Hause ist im Moment total runtergekommen, aber es ist mal ein wunderschönes Gebäude gewesen, was u.a. auch Sklaven, die auf der Flucht nach Kanada waren, versteckt hat.

Wir haben auch wieder dieses alte Lagerhaus besucht, was am früheren Geneseetal Kanal liegt.

P.S. Today, we also had our shower head replaced (again) in our "new" bathroom. It is still not working quite right, but I guess there is not much we can do about it (unless we get a completely different brand). Our bathroom still has a few paint touch-ups that need to be done and the toilet needs to be inspected by a plumber, but other than that it is like new and hardly recognizable. Our neighbor Don took a look at it when he fixed the hot water tank after the flooding and thought it looked very nice. I will have to post pictures of it when I get a chance.
P.S. Wir haben heute einen neuen Duschkopf (schon den zweiten neuen) in unserem "neuen" Badezimmer installiert bekommen. Er funktioniert immer noch nicht einwandfrei, aber man kann anscheinend nicht viel daran ändern. Unser Bad braucht noch ein paar Anstreichausbesserungen und die Toilette muß noch einmal von einem Klempner untersucht werden, aber sonst kann man das Bad nicht wiedererkennen! Unser Nachbar Don, der sich das Bad bei seinem letzten Besuch, als er das Heißwassergerät wieder in Gang gebracht hat, angesehen hat, fand, daß es sehr schön aussähe. Fotos kommen noch!
New bathroom for you and a new house for us! It is our thirtieth wedding anniversary today and we are currently nomads! One house being packed up and awaiting the keys for the other which is tomorrow:-). We will be staying at a local holiday inn this evening. Who knows I might manage to avail myself of their wifi and put up a short blog post. Otherwise I will add things on Instagram and maybe Charlotte can share them with you :-) prayers much appreciated xxx

I look forward to the bathroom pics. Doesn't it feel good to have a nice bathroom . . even with that darn shower head . . why can't things work properly! (or: "they just don't make things as well as they used to . . )
Thanks so much. We have almost no time to go to auditions because of our schedules this semester and time frame with the London program. I think she can go only to three. The other ones she has to do by video. Some colleges let you audition without having finished the regular college application, but others do no (as we found out). She wants to go to Butler next week and they want to see the regular college application first, meaning, in this case, by Monday. Some places are too far/expensive to go to anyway, so those have been ruled out (unless they take videos). It is all kind of confusing and I was not ready for this. I thought we would have until January.
