This morning, the sun was out and all girls carved their pumpkins while I taught my German 103 student on campus.
Heute morgen haben alle drei Mädchen bei Sonnenschein ihre Kürbisse geschnitzt. Ich habe meine Deutschstudentin beim College unterrichtet.
We went to the Vigil Mass for All Saints' tonight, but then Flora, Miriam, and Veronika dressed up for Halloween.
Wir waren bei der Vorabendmesse für Allerheiligen, aber dann haben sich Flora, Miriam und Veronika für Halloween verkleidet.

They went onto campus for trick-or-treating. Two dorms allow the children to go from door to door. They did not go through the town this time because it was raining too hard.
Die Mädchen sind zum College zu zwei Wohnheimen gegangen, wo sie von Tür zu Tür gezogen sind, Süßigkeiten bekommen haben und ihre Kostüme vorgeführt haben. Im Dorf waren sie nicht, weil es zu stark geregnet hat.

ReplyDeleteVeronika made Flora's hair piece! I am always amazed how they manage to put together some costumes. We normally don't spend much time sewing or buying things for Halloween. They always find something around the house. Charlotte loved Jonathan's present!
