Flora had ballet today. She seems to be in a loud ballet class because she told me today that only the children that behave well all class long received stickers at the end. She was among the sticker receiving children which made her happy. This morning I read The Biggest Pumpkin Ever to her. She truly enjoyed it.
Flora hatte heute Ballett.
Charlotte had her ballet friend over. Her friend is helping to teach Flora's ballet class and every Wednesday, after her teaching, comes home with Flora to spend some time with Charlotte. In the evenings, Miriam, Charlotte, Jonathan, and Charlotte's friend leave for ballet class together. Charlotte and I are discussing the book Lilies of the Field right now. We are planning on watching the movie once we are done with the book.
Miriam classified all musical instruments into the four categories of plucking, hitting, blowing, and bowing. She put a list into her main lesson book.
Jonathan has to read Beowulf for his upcoming Center for Lit class.
And I managed to borrow a microscope for him! He will have to collect pond water and examine it under the microscope for his biology class.
And I took a picture of the moon tonight, right before I left to teach my intermediate student.
I think lesson books are so lovely. Please tell Veronika that I like her whale very much :) And Miriam's list is very informative and beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteThe Lilies of the Field looks very good, Eva. I think I would like to read this with Chanda and then watch the movie . . Is it because I like Sidney Poitier so much????!
I will let her know. She is my "fire" child. Each main lesson book entry starts with an "explosion." She gets a fit because she thinks she cannot do it and cries loudly. Or she does it and hates her entry (her words). I let the storm pass and encourage her to try it or try it again. It helps her when people like her work.
DeleteI think Miriam is enjoying the physics she is doing right now and she loves the Greek myths we are reading.
I think Chanda would enjoy the book. I think Charlotte did. I had never heard of it before, but I have read bits and pieces and the characters are very interesting. It also has some German in it which is great.
I just finished reading the book and liked it. It is a quick read.
