No, I am not going to discuss that, but I am very happy for Jonathan, who replied to a newspaper article on exactly that topic. The article had been printed in our college newspaper and Jonathan wrote a letter to the editor. This letter got published today! He put much thought into it and wrote a well-argued reply.
Well done Jonathan!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot. I guess he is growing up :).
DeleteCongratulations to Jonathan for exercising his freedom of speech and right to express his opinions :) That's great, Eva. He is a thoughtful and intelligent young man.
ReplyDeleteHe did not even ask anybody if he should do it or not. He simply did not like certain points the author of the article was making and researched where those came from. In his response he refuted those and wrote what he thought was right. I have gotten quite a few comments (one by the Dean of Chapel) on how well it was written and how thoughtful he was. Many people also disliked the original article and were glad somebody spoke up. I don't like to show off my children, but I was touched by all those positive responses, especially since this child hated to write and read just a few years ago. You never know :):
DeleteIt's true! You never know! I remember Korrina taking the initiative often for Science Fair projects. She would just start working on something and I had no idea where the ideas came from, but I was happy to help her collect supplies. Isn't it a relief when they are so independent in such a positive way? I have really enjoyed hearing this story about Jonathan :)
DeleteYes, it is good when you see that they have ideas and projects and do something on their own. Maybe Korrina's love for science has turned into "kitchen science."
