St. Luke/Der heilige Lukas

Peter's Old HouseStories of the SaintsThis morning, after breakfast, Veronika was supposed to make her bed (nothing unusual, she always has to make her bed).  In order to reach her bed, she decided to try to jump onto it from a children's table, missed the bed of course, and bruised her legs badly.  So there were tears to dry, arnica ointment to apply, and a little talk about why you shouldn't try to reach your bed that way.  All this made us start school kind of late, and we had to skip several things.  We did manage to read about St. Luke and a painting that (according to legend) he painted and that is now in the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome.  We read the story in Stories of the SaintsLater in the day, Flora found baby powder and thought it was a cleaner.  She sprinkled it on a table and tried to wipe it and she sprinkled it on our master bedroom closet doors, which are glass doors, and tried to clean them that way.  She was full of good intentions, but not very helpful.  We spent our day mainly with Hannibal, triangles and the 4 x table.  In the afternoon we worked in our very neglected yard.  It already looks somewhat better.  Ballet for Jonathan and Charlotte in the evening:  They are always very silly when they have to get ready and always only barely make it on time.  Veronika's bedtime story was a lovely book by Elsa Beskow called Peter's Old House

There is still a problem with uploading more pictures although I bought more storage space.  We'll see what tomorrow brings.  At least our washing machine should get fixed tomorrow.

Heiligenlegenden. Das wäre doch schon mal was!

  1. Poor Veronika and dear Flora into everything again! On days like this I realise after the fact that, I was being given the opportunity to practise patience!! Hope you fared better than I do in such exercises of virtue!
Blessings to you all for a hassle free today tomorrow and the joy of a newly repaired washing machine!

  2. Veronika has always been our climber and faller. She says that her legs are better today, but she couldn't put on her boots because it hurt too much. Yes, it's so true, for situations like that you need patience. I wasn't born patient, but I have learned a lot through my children. I try to make the best out of situations like this. Sometimes it works. sometimes I revert to old habits and get overly worked up.

Thanks for your blessings for today. We had a great serviceman come out, but still have to decide what to do with his diagnosis.
