For our astronomy studies, Jonathan had to read about the north star and its major role for the early navigators in finding their latitude. Tonight we actually had a beautiful sky and went outside to find the north star. We must have looked very strange (everybody looking at the stars) because a car stopped to ask if we were okay. Two books that have been very helpful for our stargazing are

(Know the Stars) and Night Sky: A Field Guide to the Constellations. Jonathan also learned about the four circles of latitude.
Charlotte has been drawing triangles. In addition to geometry she is working in Key to Decimals, Calculadder, and Primary Mathematics 5A daily.
