Greetings from New Hampshire! We arrived here at 10:30 p.m. It took a long time because there was lots of construction and a really bad accident around Albany: a car had driven under a truck. It looked really bad.
Grüße aus New Hampshire! Wir sind hier um 10.30 Uhr abends angekommen. Es hat sehr lange gedauert, da es viele Baustellen gab und bei Albany ein schlimmer Unfall war: Ein Auto war unter einen Laster gefahren. Es sah schlimm aus.

We had supper in Massachusetts, but then it got dark and I did not take any more pictures.
Wir haben Massachusetts zu Abend gegessen, aber dann ist es dunkel geworden und ich konnte nicht mehr fotografieren.

ReplyDeleteWe slept fine, all in one room with one bathroom:), managed to take a short swim in the hotel's swimming-pool, drove to the college, opened a bank account for Miriam, picked up a book at the local bookstore which she needs for religion (I had preordered it), bought some stamps, walked around, unpacked, put together a bookshelf and hung up a mirror, then ate lunch at the college, looked at the grounds, and finally said good-bye. The trip home was tough. We arrived at 2:00 a.m.! We had church this morning, now Peter is off to Pennsylvania to take Charlotte back. She was supposed to go back earlier, but somehow managed to get Covid. The rest of us stayed healthy. Peter will be home late tonight and tomorrow our classes will start. It is all kind of crazy here. And we are really tired. Miriam has had a full program so far: Mass, hiking, bonfire, movies, etc. I think she likes her roommate. Classes start on Tuesday for her.

ReplyDeletePeter discovered the two when he took Veronika to her summer program at Magdalen. The bookstore is an independent one. No, we did not get any rest because the trip to Mercyhurst and back also took a long time. I stayed home, but Peter and Flora were not back until 11:00 p.m. and classes started at 8:00 a.m. And even now, we are not really sleeping much.
