I thought I would share a few glimpses into our day. After breakfast, chores, and circle time, we split up to do our work. Flora and I played recorder.

Then there was supper and I did some science, German, and religion with Flora. After Flora, I did some religion, British literature, and the Middle Ages in England with Miriam.
Dann haben wir Abendbrot gegessen und ich habe Sachkunde, Deutsch und Religion mit Flora gemacht. Anschließend war noch Miriam mit britischer Literatur, dem Mittelalter in England und Religion dran.

Well, we did some other things as well, but I cannot list all of them. Anyway, tomorrow, we are supposed to get Storm Eunice and we have to see how the days will unfold. I hope you liked my overview of our day.
Wir haben noch mehr gemacht, aber ich kann nicht alles aufschreiben. Morgen sollen wir den Sturm Eunice bekommen. Mal sehen, wie sich das alles so entwickelt. Hoffentlich hat meinen Lesern unser Tag gefallen.
A busy day! How cheering to have the sunshine before the storm arrives. All of you did good work and I love seeing Flora's lesson pages. I remember how much fun it was to read Horatio at the Bridge. Your lunch looks very appetizing and the books from the Goethe Institute will be fun to peruse. How nice it is to pick up so easily from when you last were in London.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is what an average day looks like :). There often is sun right when we get up, but then the day turns windy, rainy, and cold. It is sad to think that I am going through Live Ed the very last time. Morgana remembered some of those Roman lessons when Flora told her about it. Yes, it was nice to just walk into the Goethe Institut and pretend we had not been away (although they charge for checking out books).
DeleteYour days are always full of interesting learning and really well rounded. The girls are lucky to have you as their home school mum. Pip is currently studying Gothic fiction in English and absolutely hating it, can’t say I blame her!! She has to read a gothic horror during half term and so we bought Frankenstein thinking it would be the least horrendous but naturally the language is so archaic it just doesn’t make sense to her.
ReplyDeleteHope you’ve stayed safe during the storm, we have lost various tiles off the roof so waiting on a quote from the roofer who also did the drainage work at the side of the house.

Ah, thanks so much, San! I am doing my best. I am sure they are not always thrilled about what I have to offer, but they might appreciate it more, when they get older. That is crazy to study Gothic fiction at that age! Miriam read Frankenstein in her last years of high school (so grade 11 or 12, I think). That is not a book for a younger teen. I would hate it too. That storm was quite a storm (as was the one today). There are so many trees down around here. I am glad we were not hit. Has the roofer come by yet?

DeleteDa habt Ihr aber wieder fleissig gearbeitet. Das Lernchaos auf dem Tisch das kenne ich doch irgendwoher :). Die Bilder sind sehr gut geworden und geschenkte Bücher finde ich immer gut! Habt Ihr schon drin geschmökert?
ReplyDeleteJa, manchmal sieht der Boden noch schlimmer aus, weiß die Mädchen ihre Bücher da immer liegen lassen. Die beiden Naturbücher sind wirklich schön. Man kann sogar eigene gesammelte und gepreßte Pflanzen reinkleben.
DeleteDas wird ja jetzt wieder aktuell, das sammeln und pressen. Ich habe die ersten Huflattichblüten im Garten.
