Charterhouse and Mithraeum/Kartause und Mithras-Tempel

On Saturday, we looked at really old buildings.  We had been to the Charterhouse before, but never to the Roman Mithraeum.

Am Samstag haben wir uns sehr alte Gebäude angeschaut.  In der Kartause waren wir schon, aber noch nie im Mithras-Tempel.

 On to the Mithraeum, an old Roman temple

Weiter geht es zum Mithras-Tempel.

 Hier steht etwas auf Deutsch zum Tempel.

 We are waiting for our turn to see the temple.

Wir warten, daß wir dran sind, den Tempel zu besichtigen.

 

 Before you could look at the temple, they gave a presentation that imitated a ritual in the temple, including a "priest" speaking Latin.

Bevor man sich den Tempel anschauen konnte, gab es eine Vorführung, die die Rituale im Tempel darstellten, wobei auch Latein gesprochen wurde.   

 Those black stripes were lights that indicated where the columns used to be.

Die schwarzen Lichtstreifen zeigten an, wo früher die Säulen waren.
