Summer Solstice/Sommersonnenwende

What a beautiful day we had yesterday.  Perfect for the first day of summer.  In the afternoon, Flora had her violin lesson.  Here she is leaving her teacher's house.  The first hay of the year was drying in the meadow.

After a short stop at the grocery store, we found this small shelf in a parking lot.  It was free!

At home, we got ready to look for fairies and prepare them a wonderful meal.

The cats were also looking for them.
Die Katzen haben sie auch gesucht.

Veronika's
Veronikas

Veronika made a swing for the fairies.

Flora also had made a swing, but that was better suited for dolls.

Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of Charlotte's feast.  And Jonathan?  Jonathan was busy with his car . . .   He had forgotten to turn off the headlights, and so it would not go.  Luckily, our talented neighbor came over and jump started his car for him.

And then, there was a fairy in our front yard!

  1. What a beautiful day! And funny :) povero Jonathan. I'm glad your neighbor was able to come to the rescue! Flora looks adorable in her black ballet flats and with her violin. Does she have a tail attached to the handle? She also makes the prettiest fairy :)

    Happy Summer!

    (Those cats!!! :D)

    1. Our neighbor has been so helpful in emergency situations! And he always teaches Jonathan at the same time. He is simply wonderful. I hope Jonathan will never forget to turn off his headlights now.

No tail attached, but she always takes her toy fox along. Her violin teacher likes her fox, so Flora takes it along all the time now :). She had lots of fun being a fairy :).

    1. We always go and get Julius when he looks like he is "on the hunt." Kai seems to be too scared to hunt. He is a bit of a coward.
