Very cold/Sehr kalt

It is very cold, 1 degree right now and the snow has not stopped much.  We are not really going out much, especially because it is going to get even colder.

Es ist sehr kalt, -17 Grad und schneit weiter.  Wir gehen nicht besonders viel raus, besonders auch, weil es noch kälter werden soll.

Our twins also prefer the indoors these days.
Unsere Zwillinge bleiben da auch lieber drinnen.

  1. Love the two cats and what a lovely story :-). We have had some sub zero temps the lowest being -4C but no snow. I must try and make some window stars with Pip x

    1. -4 would be warm right now for us! Our pipes in the downstairs bathroom froze, which means that we cannot take showers there. It is supposed to get down to -20 tonight and basically not get any better for a week or two. We will probably have to shut the water off in that bathroom and have only the upstairs one. Not very convenient with so many people.

Your package came yesterday. Such lovely presents! I washed the towel right away and now it is ready to use. Miriam and Charlotte tried the coffee today and liked it! Thanks so much! We still have not sent out a thing so far. With everybody being sick for a week, nothing has really happened in the "gift department." But I am working on it. I hope Dave is doing okay. Veronika's cough does not want to go away, I hope it will not get worse.

  2. So pleased that the package arrived. Dave is back to his usual MS self :-) which is good! We had a leak coming from under the bath that caused a bit of hassle in the kitchen but thanks to Dave's skills it was found and shut off. It sounds like you have all had a really rough time. Ben's cough flared up again earlier in the week and he had a few days where he felt quite sick and was not eating much, totally not Ben. Hope Veronika is soon feeling better xx

    1. Oh good that Dave is doing okay. I was wondering if his MS had taken a turn to the worse. A leak does not sound good. You are lucky that Dave could help out. It must be wonderful to have such a capable husband. We are getting quite worried about Veronika. Her symptoms are very similar to two years ago when she had pneumonia. Our pediatrician's office is closed tomorrow and Monday, but if she is not improving we have to either take her there on Tuesday or go to Urgent Care sooner. I have been using all my normal home remedies, but now she is also looking quite pale and is very cranky. This is what happened last time. Is Ben okay now?

  3. Hello Eva, Yes, it is so cold by you, which would not help those coughs! Good luck with the pipes and the bathroom. Good luck dealing with the cold! I hope it warms up a little, so you can enjoy the outside and the snow. Happy twelve days of Christmas xoxo

    1. We got a space heater from a neighbor and ran it day and night, but it has not changed the pipes. I think we are just stuck for the next two weeks. This happened two years ago, when we left for California. Our renter could not use that bathroom all winter! It does not look like it is going to warm up in the next week. We are not even driving places because it is so cold. Only Peter went grocery shopping two days ago. We are doing some neat things for those twelve days, a new idea. I have to post about it, but not tonight anymore.
